wouldn't say slightly better, the pentax will have a better lens/sensor than the sanyo, the flash will be more effective. deffo more rugged. far greater iso range (will work in darker conditions) larger sensor, it has a wider angle lens (good for biking shots with backgrounds) but the sanyo does zoom in more..

that's ok, happy to try and help, i'm a bit of a camera buff (not full blown geek).

i honestly think your paying for the design the suppossed "hand camera" position..
IIRC jason tried one (like your looking at) and said as a video it was "ok" the good points were the nice hand position when holding it and using it as a video camera bad were it's a poor camera, akward to use as a camera as all the controls are on the screen etc.
the W80 while it won't be as good in movie mode it would be a better allround choice of video and photos and ruggedness. (i think it records in 1080 HD looking at the specs)

better video, better camera all round, better sealing on the camera itself and a evolution camera (started of w30 and ittereations have developed that camera to where it is today) i personally would get the W80 looking at the specs and history and what the gadget show did to them and it still worked!!

wear and tear… midlands mud/muck is pretty clay like and minces bearings to a pulp…

    LoL your own fault…
dropping a hot formula 1 brake and rotor in a cow's water trough (spelling?) didn't help and as you said yourself you a big lad (imagine a bouncer on a bike for size purposes)

i think ash dropped that one in on the REALLY exposed switchback/step/death bit after the wet off camber rock. certainly tightens up the reactions*

thats the one… i struggled to walk it…

grannies garden… she waved at us… made my day that did!

look on the gadget show, they did a review of "sports" cameras with waterproof shock jobbies, think they ended up blowing them up to break them…
was the one with susie in a hot pool in a bikini and jason filming / photgraphing her..

i clipped a pedal on Lavarda BIG rock on the right (bar height and 2m + big) drop to the left, i clipped it as i pedal'd out of a corner, launched me in the air.. balls and TT moment was painful but better than a trip down the left LOL then i had ash say "we've only lost one person down there in 5 years!" hahahahahahahah GIT

was always told no brakes was so called as you had no brakes by the bottom, there is NO WAY you could ride the one i am on about without braking.

ash was trying to do the stone switchback again when we were there… nutter…

not suprised ben had trashed his gear.. he had a new bullet i think and it was 2 week old and already getting running repairs..

Poundstretcher nope.. will ask about that one…

we did "no brakes"… some of the tightest switchback's i've done ever (black 8's are nothing compaired to those buggers) you have to stop, weight on the front and lift the rear over and around..

and not suprisingly we had no brakes at the bottom.. :D

Lavarda first day.. wow none of TA routes are hard but it is a mind job the first day trying to get yourself into the "forget about the left hand side drop" thoughts…

that whole area has so much fast singletrack, the venhicular challange was left until the thursday, completed to quiet a few "not again this trip" comments from my brother and I….

ohh Alistair, i'm going with the GF this year so i'm not going balls out (looking forward to a more considered line choice than flat out riding) plus end of the week she'll be kicking ass i think… so would consider black/white 8 and maybe the venhicular challenge too :D

nope andy is working in Afan's bike shop! we saw him last week (he lives at the bottom of whites trail on the oppersite side, recently moved there), when we went he kept falling off.. should have seen the state of him by the end of the week, he truely was black and blue!!

trailaddiction are great, ben is a top guy, his expression when i told him i only had one functioning eye was great!!

love the story of ben and the group who were really slow, he was trying to speed them up (ben is the DH guy and gets the fastest bikers) they got bored of being behind and getting lost, so they zip tied a cow bell to his saddle.. he left it there and rode the 3 days with it, ringing, still couldn't stop getting lost..

ash, nice fella, pat funny as ****! sharp as a razor, good food too and chalet.. (the posh one)

love/hate the start of grange hill!! (the angle of the ground and the narrowness) there is a BADDDD photo of me there, it's a group photo, some of mr Whathaveisaidnow friends appear to have their willies out over the shoulder of me and another fella!!

(i think Whathaveisaidnow is keith, sorry if it is not)

    long story short..

    same place..

you loose the outer ring and the bash is in it's place. i know of ppl who run it 2.5mm wider to supposidly get a better chain line..

I spoke to them a few years ago about a spare rear end for a Heckler. They said they'd only supply one if I was the original owner, which I wan't so I got one no hassle rom SC USA.

i bought a new rear end from mark recently, not an original owner of that frame but have owned 2 SC frames ang he was nothing but helpful at SC UK.

    upgrade to better cranks/BB ;)

powerspline are rubbish, seals are crap and bearings weak. would suggest doing it the cheapest way possable and look to save to upgrade to a better bb/crankset.

(i had those cranks in a marin i bought covered under 12 month warentee, killed 4 BB, after the 4th the LBS said it would not cover any more, i was impressed they covered more than one to be honest, they discounted me some Xt cranks just swapped the BB a few weeks back after a year of service)

i have the CRC ones.. fit's roady and mtb, my GF has wiggle ones and they are to small for MTB tyres of 2.0 and over.

i think GW has a point, i think you can only get a DHX3 or 4 in a enduro frame as you won't be able to get to the air connector on the piggyback..

call TFTuned… they will give you a better answer.

we got my GF's 5th element fully serviced and had the shim stack upgraded for £120.. lovely shock now..

i run 60s kev front and rear..

after a few tests this weekend, (bad back currently) found 30psi (front) and rear 35psi to be the best for me, i've taco'd a set of wheels (317's) and don't like running to low as they felt spongy..

someone will ask why run tubeless then, will i rarely puncture my tires but i pinch tubes a lot..

Lecht – i'm running high roller (non UST with stans) after i got them inflated (rim setup nothing to do with tyres, to be fail for a none ust tyre they have very few leaks, nost were from sidewall damage i had done). if i run them lower than 30 psi they feel to floaty and i worry about rim damage (i'm not graised with fineese with my riding i just plough though) grip well and don't roll (or the rim) in corners, still trying with the setup atm though.
