CFH no idea about closures but would like to hear your impressions of it, hear good "wow lots of fun" and bad "boring and nothing amazing" reviews..

as above, i run a FULL roll of spoke tape and a velox rim strip on each wheel, inflates fine on a 719 rim, at first i was struggling (see posts on here) but once i found out how much tape to use and i ended up supergluing the velox tape ends together to prevent it lifting when it was wet during instalation i got my rear tyre on first time (front was experientation) full roll of stans spoke tape, one velox rim strip, one none ust high roller, and just pumped it on, i redid the front the same way found it easier to get a joe's presta to shrader adapter and just used an air line the 2nd time as i was lazy.. pop.. on..

very secure, use a visa card if your worried.

your MORE at risk buying something from your PC over the net than over a playstation over the net.

0pt1cal any issues on your tracer vp with a chainguide?
i run double n bash and a stinger.. never used the big ring..

i'm REALLY interested in a tracer VP but keep hearing of issues with a roller/chain device. i have a test ride being arranged but wanted owners opinions.. i ride alps pretty much yearly (lyrik and strong kit builds) but also ride trail centres and local loops on the same setup (currently heckler 08 with lyrik, pro 2 /719 and mostly XT kit) comes in 31lbs ish

would really like some input from a VP owner (sorry to crash thread)

    Kinbers – yer.

been looking at a intense tracer vp and been reading a lot about not being able to run a chain guide well..

clearly i've not ridden a 951, but read about issues with chainguides, leverage rations (struggling to get a spring strong enough, they were looking to get hold of a custom made one i was told).

was just interested in intense as a company, found extra uk to be helpful though.

not got one but been reading a lot about intense in general.

i would suggest you go to mtbr and read about the 951 there.. i think i read of an issue running some chainguides… it's all over on mtbr though..

it's not marketing BS… it's a progression of air shock technology, spesifically in the latter stages of the stroke of an air shock to give it a rising rate to prevent you blowing though all the travel, the pressure/volume ramps up towards the end making the latter part of the travel harder to go though, means you can ride with optimal sag levels (i find i have to run 20% to 15% sag to stop me blowing though all my travel on my heckler!)

    fozzybear

basically means there is a greater resistance to bottoming out meaning you can run it with "normal" sag levels and not blow though the stroke..

plus orange ones are tuned spesifically for their frames.. will be worth it.

I was asking about andy last week in TA, guys said i just missed him. I saw him in Afan a few weeks back was chatting to you about him move to afan.

i rode with him (andy)last year for a day in TA, he was off the bike more than on it ;) (comedy crashes and off's)

    it's stuck down.

get a LBS to remove the can (suspect the neg chamber will be charged with pos pressure air so don't remove it yourself as the air can will litterally shoot off the shock when you undo it)

all it needs is a little grease on the seal and bobs your uncle… (unless the seal is shot then you need a new seal too)

Hora, it's not that, it's just that the dirt get wedged in the fox 36 seal just under the lip, it didn't move further down the seal into the cavity designed to tap the dirt there, so what happened was the dirt got stuck under the leading edge of the wiper part of the seal, which then lifted all the anno off then started eating the stantion..

Tftuned said they had seen a few 09 fox 36 doing this.. personally i like the fox 36 talas rc2's having ridden my brothers but not happy to put out all that money then have new upper over a year later for the best part of £300…

i use ring grease on the pistons to keep the seals fresh..

But that makes his an 08' model – Is there any difference? I am not criticising but does he maintain them well – i.e. keep clean and seal service and oil changes as recommended?

LoL (not at you just the way companys release stuff, 2010 fox stuff out already!) you would think it's an 08 but the way fox release stuff they were the 09 QR 20mm bolt versions.

cleaned religiously and oiled according to manufacturers specs, also serviced regular by the LBS who sold them to him.

according to tftuned and mojo it's an issue where dirt can get lodged under a seal and then with the fore and aft movement on the fork it can cause the dirt to litterally grind the anno/stantion away, this causes air to them pass the seals at this worn area.

i'm super lazy with maintainance, normally dealing with thing after they break, pikes and lyrik have not let me down yet, unlike fox float RL/C's which weren;t great performing forks (03/06 versions) improved now but needed constant maintainance to keep them running well.

    @ SeanOrange both
the new one is designed for a 140 fork (up from 130 last year) so with the taller fork and the bike is slacker too totals 1.5 deg at the headtube after C2A height.

@hora i run mine super plush, turn off all compression damping (except maybe a click to prevent brake dive) and run them 90 psi find thats a great setup for me.

i spoke to hope, they told me with the new design clamp part air gets stuck in the lever more than the old design..

yer since jan.. a few months.. my bro's been riding his a year n a bit…
£280 for new uppers… after a year… no BS no reason to just being honest.

yes the 2 step would be to low imo.. would be lovely to be 130 not 115.. short sighted IMO…

oh and FYI the new 5 AM would be 1.5 deg slacker than your old 5…

Kramer – i can tell the difference in the design and action of the link's and pivots.. was just commenting how the rear seatstay link to shock linkage looked very trek'esk!

uses the same "magic link" as the coilair version from last year

lyrik are the best forks ive owned Hora.

Fox have weak anno on the stantions.. my bro's worn his out on his air talas.. i've had my forks for 2 years 2 alps visits, no services (until wednesday where i'm tftune servicing them, justified as i was servicing my fox myself every 6 months) only issue i had was the 2 step when they were released…

a little oil has passed the seals (again after 2 years and 2 alps trips don't forget) enough to drop the fork to 150mm height so a clean and service will right that… look forward to another 2 years of smooth, plush, faultless service from them.

i personally don't know how your appealing to for info here.. Locals or visitors to scotland.

personally as a visitor i won't be returning to Ae (welcome comments maybe in some peoples eyes) unless improvements are dramatic.

The only "interesting part" was omega man. burns burms (as they were) have no flow and it's like riding landscape after the preditor has blown up.
That boardwalk stuff! what the heck…. thats for that… like riding over B&Q decking for no reason what so ever!
The decent into the valley/stream then out again.. hmm yer what a waste of all that climbing (plus there were tree's down on the climb too)

Loads of diversions.. closures and trail damage.. HATE the surface too… get a cheap job lot from somewhere?

always hear good things from the DH boys about Ae but thats above my level…

    air in the system…
don't care if your bike shop bleed them, we (my GF and I) have a set each. LBS cut cables and "bled" them 3 times.. still the same, ended up sending to hope and they did it for us… all ok now..
i've been riding hope brakes for ages and love em but these new tech m4's are getting on my wick!!

i've just fitted maxxis HR to my stan's all ok, sounds like cheap tyres IMO.. you don't need UST tyres though… i've been fine with stan's and normal "tube" tyres…
