Hi all – I am pleased to say that I managed to get my Stache back thanks to one extremely thoughtful individual-didn’t think I’d see it again so am chuffed beyond belief!!

Thanks to everyone who has kept it in mind and kept an eye out.

    Hi SaxonRider-good news indeed there!!

Hope I have a similar outcome as my Stache 5 was stolen from my garage last night and am beyond upset that it’s gone :(

Many thanks for that-heartily agree sir!!

It was the rigid carbon forked model in the lovely Miami green colour-was a 19.5″ frame and they seem to have well and truly sold out in that size so unlikely to get a replacement.

It was standard build – I hadn’t changed a thing, although I was pondering getting some better tyres for winter as the Chupacabras were a bit scary in the wet stuff. Saved me that job now :(

The 2017 model is now in not quite so vivid black and comes with a front suspension fork so Trek have definitely made a big change for the updated model.

Might have an Ibis Mojo (19″) for sale soon if you’re interested.

Used paisley freight last week to send some forks-know they do frames/bikes as well (I added insurance up to £500)

Really sorry to hear that – I’m in north Leeds too – I’ve had our monitored alarm linked to our garage – if scumbags break in they’ll have a conversation with someone from a monitoring station – no password – police are called. Makes me feel a little bit more secure.

How about a nice classic Santa Cruz Superlight?

Under your budget and Stif do 36 months interest free.

Had same creak with my Five-drove me loopy for a while.

Eventually solved by changing rear quick release for a new one and made sure it was nipped up nice and tight.

At 38 years old and now nursing a dislocated shoulder, what i have discovered is that i just don’t bounce quite as well as i used to!!!

Already peeved at not being able to ride though!!

    Cheers Darren.

Think that’s the size for me too – does seem to be the norm with Santa Cruz to go up a size to what you would usually ride.

Think you’re gonna have fun!! :-)

Very nice indeed Darren – is that a med or a large?

Getting ready to place an order me thinks! :-)

Broke my fifth metatarsal about this time last year – was in plaster for a few weeks – as IanMunro says above, although they heal fairly quickly they can cause problems due to the blood supply down there.

Luckily mine healed ok – bit of physio and some fairly light rides for a while and all is now good.

I’d definitely go an get it x-rayed just to be sure.

Bought one of the refurb Gaggia machines allthepies just mentioned – great value and makes a very nice coffee indeed.

To say it was a 'refurb' you'd never know – looked brand spanky new to me! :-)

Love new shiny bikes but got to say – I had a 2004 Heckler and still regret selling it – its the one bike I wish i'd kept hold of. Unless you need to sell to fund next purchase its well worth keeping hold of.

Not sure if you'd class it as a 'bargain' but Currys are offering 8gb touch for £138 at the mo (am quite tempted myself!)

Had some problematic juicy brakes (both 5s and Ultimates).

Went back to Hope with a set of Tech X2's and they're absolutely brilliant – worlds apart from the minis I was running 4 or 5 years ago.

Broke my foot a month ago – Back at hospital this week and told no op required which is good news – physio starting in a week or so but being off the bike for so long is a nightmare :(

Daffy – Broke my right foot nearly 3 weeks ago – in a fibreglass cast until next week when I go for another x-ray to see how/if it's healing. If not it's surgery plus another 3-4 weeks in a cast :(

Had cast redone last week and I asked nurse how long for bones to heal – was told about 4ish weeks on average but that can vary depending upon type of break and where it is.

Feel for you though – was in same place with my fitness until this 'blip'!!

Because i've got a broken foot – not a happy bunny – will basically miss all of the autumn colours and be back riding for the depths of winter – Ah well, having fun looking at new bikes and lights!!!
