BTW just bought myself a pair of Maxxis Detonators – only done 250 miles on them as only had them 2 weeks but seem very good value for money £19/tyre:

If you look at the high-res images there is a feint curved line extending backwards – But I agree if you pick at it or give it a quick clean then its easy to tell IME.

If its under warranty then don’t touch it – if its out of warranty (after ringing them) / second hand then hope – If you take the headset out it may make it worse and they may tell you to push off? Sorry WW – not trying to contradict you :)

Really not good IMO – both sides as well – Warranty? Also a very odd place to put a frame sticker?

LOL – It looks like from the CC headset finder that the top bearing is a std 1 1/8 IS42 (42 is a size in mm outerdiam IIRC) – The bottom is non-std IS52 (outer diam 52mm but non-std for some reason)?

I can’t easily find a single IS42 CC compatible bearing online myself – as to the IS52 non-std – god only knows – contact spesh direct would be my suggestion as I expect you’ll have to order them direct through spesh?

Hmm – yes the writing suggests asking Spesh :( Hmm – have you emailed spesh tech support – they are usually very helpful IME

There is no cup – its integrated – Just bearing carts with crownrace/seal bottom and topcap & Seal top.

Just order: SHIS:IS52/40 – 1.5″ Integrated (IS) and SHIS:IS42 – 1-1/8″ Italian Integrated (ISi) Threadless

If you are convinced that the headset is CC (i.e. will fit topcap/collar and crown race then get:

Well from the website is an integrated headset – 1-1/8″ Threadless Top, 1 1/2″ lower, Campy style.

So its tapered integraged italian – ISi

Pinch of salt – the truth is somewhere in the middle mostly – writing for a mag you have to find a middle ground I presume –

If you get given stuff to review then you don’t want to slate it otherwise you’ll never be given stuff again but not a perfect review otherwise your readers will not respect your reviews unless it really deserves it??

Sort of what njee said but in my training manual it suggests a smoothie of OJ, a banana and some maltodextrin, VITs and eletrolytes like liver salts (teaspoon) etc – well I have tried banana, OJ, Multivit and liver salts in a drink and its good and very cheap :)

Yup I got a Smudge AyUp battery without switch and runs for about 6 hours with my AyUp upgrades from Troutie – IIRC 300 lumens (older version) to ~600 lumens :)

I think materials were about £25 + Labour

Smudge would give it a go – I binned mine too late to realize and just got a replacement on off him instead – he also has a new website: http://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/

Loco: so does that mean a Fox warranty is voided by doing a 24 hour race then?

Be hard to prove though – Trouble is I expect if your upper wore in a 24hr race by chance then they wouldn’t warranty them anyway?

Have Mojo/Fox or anyone every warrantied a worn set of uppers just out of interest?

I have only bought kevlars in the last 2 years – seems to be a good balance of bite and longevity – no squeal unless really wet IME (SS Juicy 7 and Hope M4)

I have both – Tarmac SL2 and a Kinesis Ti Granfondo (both frame only sale items I might add :) ) – the Ti is lovely and comfy but the SL2 up the hills and on the flat is an out and out blast – for long rides 100+ however I prefer the Ti esp on bad roads etc :)

Edit: If I read my own article “Finished – You’ll find you get quicker every 15 hours of riding!!”

@flow – I did tell my mate who had some reba races to service them – he hasn’t touched them for 3.5 years – his pop-loc internal spring failed but he put it all off. Last weekend “all of a sudden” both uppers are scored – just happened all of a sudden…..

Edit: I did tell him to send them to LOCO and even got him a quote!

Thanks Rickon, I have an annual service, but have never dropped the lowers at yet.

Thing is with older forks a seal clean interval is 30 hours of riding so even a service every year is not going to sort you out IME. I try and do a seal clean on mine at least every 40 hours.
