That’s my best guess OW 🙂 and if you have not touched it in over a year it could do with a service anyhow 🙂

I also looked at the Defy but as I already had a smartphone running android a bit overkill for an emergency phone. The Defy is also £200!

BTW the locked JCB phone is only £49!

The ferrules (which are the caps on the end of the cable outers) can click when they move inside the cable stops on the frames – This usually occurs when you turn the handlebars rather than pull and push on them such as when you are climbing or out the saddle?

Nah I got a smartphone for normal use – I don’t need to surf the web and use apps while having fun on me bike – just in case I am delayed back or crash badly 🙂

Yup as Gixerator said sometimes it is there – Do one or the other and test if its gone – will tell you where its coming from? As said above its usually either the bearing/cup interface, grit between collars/headtube, stem/steerer dirt or bar/stem plate 🙂

Yup that’s the sound esp when out the saddle – I also have carbon bars, sometimes it can be in the stem/steerer or bar/stem interface – just take the headset apart and clean everything and clean and grease the bearings and cups a little and should be fine- The bearings are stainless and even if a bit gritty can be DIY serviced but pulling off the seals very carefully, cleaning with degreaser and regreased and seal put back on (but eventually need to be replaced) but mine have been going for 3 years now on teh original bearings 🙂

Being a vet I would suggest you discuss it with the vet concerned and ask for yourself and sort it out that way? Sometimes routine procedures, even by experienced vets, do not always go to plan, i.e. animal riggles, veins difficult to cannula, catheter blocks or kinks …..

Well I thought its quite a good idea 😉 or just use a plastic bag but I don’t like that idea 🙂

Just take it all apart, put bearings in with clean grease and clean all the collars – its prob dirt/dust between 2 metal surfaces – I had it last weekend and now all clean (as I have done this a few times now) it is gone!

I would suggest peaking inside most headsets at least every year if not 6 months to check ingress of dirt etc?

Can you look at the code on the mech to see if it is a medium/long cage (which I am sure it is) if its gs model it should be fine? Presuming its shimano ?

Yeh mine from actionsports came 2 days later – very impressed – The kit does NOT come with the lever if it is the remote version – comes in several bags in the box so is OEM style not fully boxed retail 🙂

Good cup of tea at the end!!

Mate and I did the 102Km – have had 2 road sportives and an offroad enurance event sportives in as many weeks and were both tired at the med/lng cut off so decided to do justice to the med loop instead. 5 hours 45 min for the 102 km we felt was respectable. Sprinted the last 3km out the saddle 😉

    Thanks WDMBC 🙂

I think it was my shock pump not the seat post – used a normal pump and pressure gauge and all fine now 🙂

    foxyrider

I think we go our the same time didn’t we – haven’t had a chance to ride mine but fitted OK – The only thing was getting the air pressure in the bottom correct as my Shock pump lets all the air out on detaching 🙁

My remote lever had a little play and the seal a little stiction but overall very happy.

Edit: mine was the remote version 🙂
