I have only used the Bar phat – I put them on the inside drop and the top but some dont bother inside the drop/bottom as this may make the grip to big?

I did an article a while ago with Spesh Bar Phat tape and gels kit:

Yes Andy the BB91 cups I have in my hand are plastic and less likely to damage the frame but I have to ask myself if that makes them weaker and more prone to moving/squeaks etc?

The only ting I grumble about my 800 is the screen quality/brightness/transrefelctiveness – bit hard to see – apart from that ace :)

Great event even with the epic rain and mud! The Gap ride was awesome :) I wonder if the guy I gave my last tube to on the last 10km got back OK?

Paul mailed me a few days ago and suggested photos (I asked him if an offical photographer was involved) would be out next week?

I was on my Felt Edict 26″ and made 10th place in 12 hr solo – Don’t personally think a 29er would have made ME any faster TBH – as said above – training and mental strength gets you through although doing the Oktoberfest for 8 hours on a Alu HT (Kinesis XCPro3) was torment TBH – short travel Full Suss made me more comfortable and thus able to withstand the punishment better :)

BTW – Paul informed me that piccies should be available next week from the Bikefest :)

Well TBH I would only be bothered if that person who cheated was on the podium – I was in the 12hr solo and I was just glad to finish intact ;)

Sods law Hamish – feel for you! I was so tired after 19 laps but I manged to jump it – not sure how I landed it though as had the 20 yard stare even after about 6 hours of a 12 hour solo! 8O

The thing that surprised me was all my laps were between 33 and 37 mins – bit too constant for me – not sure what went right! LOL

Edit OMFG – I got 10th place !!!!! Whooo hoo

I managed 11th Place in the 12 hour solo with 19 laps – so chuffed – can’t really say anything else about the event as didn’t see anything else apart from the trail!

The A9 from JO’G was fine TBH and I don’t like big roads but avoided the rest of the A9!

Have a look at our JOGLE route (Did it last week) – on the whole it was great (apart from getting lost around Loch Lomond ;) )

We avoided most major A Roads and was a great choice TBH – adds a few miles on though!

    http://lejog.foxyrider.co.uk/?page_id=21 for our planned route

    cheeky get TSY ;)

Top tips – make sure you look at your GPS carefully at all times as taking a wrong turn may add on 25 miles to 135 miles? ;)

keep stopping to eat even if you don’t feel hungry.

If you have support get them to stop every hour along the route – good boost to the metal positivity.

Take loads of waterproofs and different layers for any type of conditions.

Recovery drink after a long day helps.

If your on energy drink then have something savory lunch and dinner.

mudguards are good but not essential.

make sure the bike is A1 working order saves on mechanicals.

take minor roads if poss – adds to the mileage but minimises death!
