@Brant – I think it would be good, as said above, that the people in the advert be wearing or using the product advertised 🙂 But all in all I prefer the first advert 🙂 Oh and be setting a good example with regard to the highway code 😉

True but they are at a distance where you can’t see them that and you can also quite clearly see the the guy with the helmet wearing one?

Yeah the items they are wearing arn’t the ones being advertised 🙂

Plenty of soap suds and press down on the top of the tube tyre when the wheel is supported works for me:

yup – can’t see why the wheel set is being sold of cheap 😉 £7 inc nipple is better than buying packets of 8 for £50 each (£100 per wheel set!)

I have only ever broke 2 spokes on a old road set so the spare spokes are “just in case” !

My second choice was the ProII evo’s on crests but wanted the fully tubless rims – glad I got the repair kit with the spoke tools and magnet – seems straight forward on the you tube instructions 🙂 At least the hubs are very easy to service and the bearings are sealed 🙂

The only issue I can see is now sourcing spare spokes individually as a pack of 8 are £50 – oops – [remembers not to break any spokes] !

    Edit: http://www.behindthebikeshed.co.uk/ £7 each – just ordered a spare set 🙂

Yeah I rode that guys Edict up and down the event track Nobby @ the 24/12 but the Large was a bit too large – That’s the nearest I have got so far 🙂 Very light and looks fab – I have everything to built up a new one – just need the frameset!!!

yup – the importers Saddleback now have them on their website so they are coming – but info esp on the frame only is scarce 🙂

Cool – so basically the tyres are sealed and the beads are better for sealing? Are the side walls a bit thicker?

    http://www.fulcrumwheels.com/jspfulcrum/techlab.jsp?techid=8&lang=en&world=offroad

There seems to be a lockring version and an IS 6 bolt version.

The 2011 website says adaptable to 15mm – I’m not bothered as they are an XC wheelset for me anyway.

The Fulcrum 2011 range includes the standard modification kit with quick release and 15mm thru axle for the front wheel of Red Metal 0, Red Metal 1, Red Metal 3 wheels and the 2 versions of Red Zone.
A clever solution that will allow you to use the Fulcrum wheels on bikes with front forks with traditional release or thru axle.

I guess as usual these are OEM so don’t come with the Full Retail 15mm adapter kit? So I guess you could get a Fulcrum aftermarket 15mm kit?

hmm 🙂 Need to spend my Transwales money and birthday money on sommink 🙂

My only concern is fully tubeless setup – how easy is it to change spokes/nipples?

Not sure what I’m doing but if you don’t get any replies let me know – I live in Bovey and some cracking routes around me – I can always email you some routes at any rate if you get stuck?

    Yup – I’m using a 8sp chain on a 7spd cassette 🙂

Or you van do it properly with a weldtite external (or internal) tubeless repair kit for about £3.

You can’t do it with an external for sure as I already use one and you can’t mend great big side wall rips like that!

An the internal patches are poss not strong enough for a side wall rip – not that I have ever repaired one like that – I’d bin it myself or use a bit tractor tyre patch and adhesive using a reinforced patch 🙂

quality not quantity – go somewhere with a group and do some different riding – say abroad on a holiday – i.e. more social riding – makes if far more interesting riding with other people and sharing the experience?

I used a piece of bark on my road bike when the tyre blew out the side wall – got me home in the dark and rain 🙂

Also recently I purchased some nice thick fibre impregnated patches used for the inside of tractor tyres – they work a treat 🙂
