How about the top of Haytor on the TOB 😉

will eventually but I have just bought a quart and I expect I will use it up before it goes solid – I reckon if you keep the lid on tight then it should last a fair time – my last bottle lasted for a year!

Would seem a bit premature – I’d still give them a service and check bearings and depending on what you find email Hope – I expect they happily sort you out!!

How often have you ridden on them – I think a years hard riding would be easily enough to wreck the freehub body bearings?

Jet washes KILL bearings IMHO! and the more dirty rides you do in grinding mud the shorter the duration!

Not rubbing on pads? Does it run freely out of the bike?

If not I’d check the bearings as neninja says but with that time span could do with a service? :

Where is it in that article? I can’t find any purple/floss/pipe in that page, I read most of it but skimmed some of it, but doesn’t seem to mention using the product at all.

    Was nice article though

😳 – god I’m going mad – just posting up crap these days 😯

@clanton – I combined 2 knackered cassettes for a mate and as donk says burred off the hooks with a file and he’s been riding it with a new chain for 5 months now!

I usually but SP41 and an XTR kit for the ferrules etc and then just cut new outers when needed and then swap inners if/when.

I have the mud lovers on my winter bike and been good though 🙂

Great riding roads and off roads 🙂

As Real man says – if you follow some of the Stage 5 TOB route you wont go wrong for a road ride – if you want some killer hills try Dartmeet and Widdecome 🙂

Be interested in trying one out and comparing it with my XCPro3 – i.e. rear end and the 130mm setup for trail riding.

Neil – you shouldn’t be drooling as you have just bought a new bike! 😉

Basically I’d go with the road pedals if your shoes are not very stiff – if your soles are stiff then I wouldn’t worry – the flexy soles on a small platform may ache your feet over a long distance ?

However if you do use his pedals then I’d practice a bit before you do the race 😉

yup – either take it back to the shop and tell them or just cut out the middle man and phone Mojo – I had an issue with my rear shock on my Orange Five and they dealt with me direct instead of going through orange !

yup – squirt lube (pref water based) under the grips and wiggle 🙂

I got some muddy fox bib shorts and they are crap – seams split quickly and decals (which were horrible to start with) pulled off quickly. Wouldn’t be going cheap again IMHO 🙂

They seem to have a permanent sale ! Just cheap stuff in the first place IMHO!

    Options:

    1. Keep it all, degrease, lube etc but has in increased risk of jumping and chain sucking on your ride.

    2. Change chain and expect to jump on the back and suck front

    3. Change chain and cassette and poss suck front

    4. Change the whole lot.

If you do want to do something I would prob choose no 2 and then try it on a short ride and see if you get away with it – prob not – and prob end up going choice 3 or 4.

Once a week for a year in dirty condition prob would at least stretch the chain and if its more than .75 % stretched then it will abnormally wear the rest of the drive chain:
