    Edit: Fixed

Need to top up the fluid to max and then pump to 25psi with valve open – cycle a couple of times and let it settle then test a couple of times 🙂

I love our HDR_FOX_T2 – most bugs are now ironed out (not that there were many to start with) – Also recent firmware has added Iplayer and youtube etc and ITV is on its way – you can record 2 (inc HD) and watch one or play one (as long as 2 are on the same mux if viewing) 🙂

The FOXSat already has ITV player 🙂

With any wheel with spoke holes in the rim you should fit rim tape – A cheap option is twice round with electrical tape 🙂

Got the theory now – I reckon I have air in the central oil reservoir – I guess emptying it and putting the 65ml in and then as you say cycle would be best 🙂 So fully extended upside down open valve then compress half way to remove air, turn back up, wait a while then extend – should remove any air?

Have you tried uninstalling the mouse in Device manager and then pulling it out then plugging it back in? Could be a driver issue?

Yeah me too, didn’t touch the air chamber – I think I might do a quick article on it if I get it right 🙂

ahh cool Steezysiz – I think at the weekend I’ll do a full breakdown and use the 65ml of oil – I reckon its prob only low viscosity 5wt as my 7wt oil is still a bit sticky in comparison 🙂

From what I see you dont need any professional tools!

On-One have Fulcrums going cheap – I got the Red Metals 1’s and apart from spares (bought some after market spokes just in case) very happy and look blooming strong 🙂 Hubs are supposed to be pretty sound like Mavic hubs 🙂

I have the 661 reckon and I did have the 2010 Xen and I would say they are pretty much identical in shape, fit and padding 🙂 The only issue is when its really hot the pads soak up sweat – but its a trade off as its a very comfy helmet 🙂

I was doing that a few years ago – taking bad lines – I replaced with an SLX – much cheaper – haven’t trashed it do date though !

    Hi Andy

I filled mine up to the top – i.e. overflowed when I put the post back in but not sure that’s correct – I’m gonna have to have a play – I’ll try khanis trick and if not I’ll empty some juice – I think air in the outer section has to be there as you have to pump it up to 25psi so prob doesn’t have to be full!

I’d go for Conti 4 seasons – been riding those in winter or summer and they are great – only 1 puncture d.t. blow out on big stone – very happy with them 🙂

Having said that I have some Gator Skins on my Winter bike/commuter and only 1 puncture as Hit a stone and I hadn’t checked the tyre pressure 🙂

I’ve had both and TBH and not really noticed much diff. in performance or longevity!

Pipe wrench and inner tube wrapped around the collar

The spring axles are knocked in (splined on end with a threaded socket) – you would have to tap them out and replace the spring and then tap them back in to the body – never done it myself – mine were rattley on my XE’s (very old) and I did up the tension screw to max and this helped the rattle.

I think the trouble with the Rocs (as they are cheaper) is they are not designed to have the springs replaced? IIRC the std ATACs are?

Otherwise can you pack out the spring axle with a circlip of similar to take up the lateral play?

Try pumping it up while it’s upside down with the remote lever pressed at the same time, that sorted mine out ok

Yeah I have done but fully compressed that but not quite there yet I think – will do it again and cycle through – cheers Khani 🙂 I presume you mean fully extended with lever pressed?

one point though, the Alum ATACS need the 10x12x15 bush, they actually have a 16mm long one fitted as standard but they’re not readily available

I thought that Aliums wern’t classed as ATACs were they – that’s why I didn’t mention them (although I have a pair) – are they officially ATACs uplink?

Edit: yes they are ATACS – i’ll edit the article – cheers Uplink

    DONE 🙂

£43 with £5 off then 3% TCB and 1% CC CB 🙂 – I expect they are coming out with new models for 2012?

Basically the more you use them, the wetter and muddier the conditions, the lack on maintenance and jet washing them and then leaving them wet will accelerate failure.

So if you rode them in the dry or you took them apart every 6 months (or mid-winter) and re-greased them and didn’t use any pressurised cleaning then they would probably last ages 😉

+1 rim tape and stans valves 🙂 About £8 for 2 valves and not much for the tape and about say £10 for the fluid? – or you could get the whole kit (valves, tape, milk) for about £20?

First thing I’d do would be to replace the seals + foam rings and give the fork a right good flush out internally. You’re not going to make it any better, but you can stop it from getting any worse!

    +1

They are OK but certainly not great – they have some bridleways, rivers, woods etc and also full gridlines but not brill – The openstreetmap is pretty good alternative to the expensive Topos – the last set I has haven’t been updated for many years – check the revision dates!

OSM – Not quite as much detail and a bit patchy – try talky toaster Open maps
