I use Royal Mail standard parcel with insurance – I posted my forks off for service (2.5kg) and cost me about £12 with £500 of insurance – posted it Friday and got to Loco Tuning on Monday!

Is that £160 plus cost of service or £160 including service?

£160 + Service for FIT retrofit – thats for my Talas 3 forks anyrate.

Email Simon @ Loco to get specific price for you fork would be best?

Jut spoken to Simon @ Loco Tuning – They need new uppers soon but will ride them during the winter and get the Kashima uppers & bushes next spring when I have saved a bit more money up 🙂

Would be surprised if that’s a crack through the weld bead like that. Probably just in the paint.

They just rebuilt mine after send them the whole hub – you might be able to send the whole wheel over if its factory and they will rebuild it for you?

    Edit – too slow 🙂

could be bothered taking the hub out of the wheel.

You can send you whole wheel and they will rebuild it for you IIRC?

Or if you wanna go a bit lighter and racy then a Kinesis XC130, XC3 or XCPro3? 100-130mm forks.

HDMI is a video output not input – What type of camera are you getting?

I think your question is irrelevant – HD just means the pixel dimensions like in a camera – you screen is not really an issue – more of an issue is the processing power and whether it is capable of editing HD video!

    your spec:

CPU AMD Sempron SI-42 (2.1 GHz)
Graphics chipset ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200
    RAM 3 GB
    Screen 17.3 inches
    1600 x 900 pixels
    Hard drive 250 GB

Should be fine – I epect you’ll have to upload using USB or via a card?

If it had an HDMI socket it should work – You need to set the graphics card to either clone the screen or extend (which ever you want). YOur monitor maybe either HD ready or full HD – both of which arn’t a major problem.

    Have you a model number/make?

Pawls in the freehub not engaging – how old? If old and not serviced then pawls could be worn, or springs etc – or crud in mechanism?

TBH Hopes recommendations is to change all the seals when you replace the bearings – I wonder how many people actually do?

Also jet washing kills them quicker!

Regular breakdowns, cleaning and regreasing also helps!

Yes – you can lift it up as it will just be -ve air pressure – and then will return back.

there’s just enough dry fallen leaves to make that lovely crunching noise as your tyres roll over them but not enough to actually hide the right path.

+1 – nice day but bloomin hot up the steeper climbs!

Will also affect your relative crank length a little as well – what’s the issue with the seatpost though?

Well I went and enjoyed it – the big hitters wern’t there and actually thought it was great for the niche brands – the test area was good but the lack of bikes to try was poor – this was a let down (after speaking to some of the organizers) by not many of the manufacturers lending their bikes out (to get thrashed). I don’t blame them TBH in lending out new 2012 bikes just to get trashed by loads of people who clearly didn’t know what they were doing!

TBH some kids were actually caught stamping on some of the bikes in an attempt to ‘fix them’ when in actual fact they didn’t need fixing – some broke them and then dumped the bikes and went on to get another. Two bikes with droppers were broken (snapped the levers off) in the first day apparently!

The road bike area had less kids and seemed less busy and the bikes stood up a little better!

Got chatting to many of the guys on the stand rather than just looking and this was much more rewarding.

Just specced the Ribble sportive with Ultegra and Fulcrum 7 and comes out at £1500 – £1100 base model with Sora etc.

Have you also looked at Kinesis?

£1000 frame if you already have some road kit?

I can only recommend the Tech/M4 – I can’t say how mine compare to others but servicing and parts make them perfect for me 🙂 The don’t rub and the adjustment is real easy on the fly 🙂

That’s going to be awfully tight up on the big ring

I doubt it would even get there! Way way to short – did they do the largest sprocket and chainring sizing + 2 links?

@Mbnut – I got one form Germany – Its going spare as it was for a bike build but I now have a tapered forks – its a cane creek lower race – 1.5 to 1 1/8? Same as the bike I am building.

    1 x Cane Creek – 40-Series headset, integrated IS52 1.5 to 1 1/8

Cost me about 30 euros with postage.

You just need to get a standard integrated 1 1/8 top bearing from cane creek 🙂
