doesn’t seem that great a deal to me. Yes they’re half the price of the Halfords Pro ones but with Halfords you get a) more spanners, b) a flexi-ratchet end, c) a lifetime warranty AND they will no doubt be on offer soon.

    Maybe I won’t bother then :)

Yup – I did it in July – started at Nanty at 10pm and finished 15 hours later in Brecon :)

I still feel about the same as when I was late 20’s / 30 – I think I’m just doing more now so have less spare time?

I wouldn’t be put off at all.

I have my Spesh SL2 carbon now for 3 years without a hint of an issue. I have had my Felt Edict LTD carbon frame for 6 months and TBH I have no issues with it at all – I don’t see (unless you going to hammer it way beyond its function that its really an issue – not “Many” people keep a FS frame for more than >10 years? Other things fail more than the frame components?

Regardless of the Speedplay politics my choices in that order would be:

    Speedplay>Look>Time>shimano

(Also a Speedplay user) – Although on my Commuter/Audax I use MTB Time ATAC’s – Tried Time RXL’s and found them awkward.

I ran on Torq energy and gels for the bikefest 12 hr solo and at the end my oesophagus was raw – they do work but all of them give me gut issues – only use them for intense stuff TBH – of for a caffeine kick at the end of a long ride.

No worries mate – Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion :) I have been using a mutli-clean for the household concentrate for a while now which works well :)

Thanks for the heads up – after I finish my Muc-Off fest I’ll give it a bash :)

Cheers guys – The super glue didn’t stick to the tyre much (yes I did clean it really well) and then gave way when I inflated.

b r – The instructions say put the super glue between the tyre and patch – It really didn’t work as the super glue went brittle and then cracked and teh patch really did not want to stick – normal puncture repair worked better IME. But Thanks for the tip – I’ll put a bit on the outside :)

Well don’t get the newer version of the Weltite internal kit – 6 small patches and 1 tube of useless super glue! I ended us using Vucanising solution, wheel milk and one of the patches in the end – Superglue is a stupid idea – it doesn’t like water for a start!

Starting to get bored – just use it for a record of my rides, share them with my mates and training but TBH I don’t go out for KOM’s – if I get one great but if I loose one – who cares – there are always going to be riders fitter than me – It’s just a matter of time they will ride that segment and get the KOM? If I was a racer I’d go out and race ;)

I tape mine outside to inside not all clockwise (you go opposite each side), works for me – another article here:

Excellent – many thanks Rickon and WW – Ordered the kit – pretty good for £1.99 :) The external kit works well :)
