FH-RM30 Rear Freehub – is it the altus range that is listed on the newer Trek 7.2FX range? If so have a look at this PDF and see if it fits your hubs specs or go here for the shimano Altus list? I presume its 8 speed – whats teh code on thub? I had a look on CRC but would be suprised if you can get a new free hub online for the cheaper hubs? maybe have to order though madison etc?

Surely the just the cadence would change slightly with longer / shorter cranks. i.e longer cranks, greater turning force (slightly) therefore change to a sl. larger cog on the back and hey presto higher cadence but lower turning force? Maybe I’m wrong? I guess shorter cranks for a smaller bike?

no probs but bought mine 2 years ago like mattsccm – The main annoying thing is teh velcro rubs on teh back of my claves when riding so not my favourite pair of shorts.

so I can go back anytime with no referal. they said as it was my whole side I could not go back to orthopeadics.. this seemed daft

I can only presume this is regarded as a new condition i.e it was your wrist which was the original complaint – therefore I can only presume you have to start again and get referred agin – also I think there is also a time limit so if there has not been any need to see you in 1 year or what ever the time limit is (poss 9 months) (my wife know better as she work in the NHS) you may also have to go back to your GP and get it worked up agian?

There is, I will admit another incentive where I work and that is the money you save can be spent on other areas of patient care. ( and not before someone starts into the drr’s pocket)

Maybe thats what I was thinking of rather than a numerical / % of referrals? Money it seems to be the root of a lot of problems in the world or a lack of it ;)

    Hi

I would recommend bickley mill – Its has a resaurant and bar but some nice rooms – we had it for our wedding reception but its tucked away. One of our guests stored their bike in the service area in the building and were fine with it. Nice food but not sure about wether it would be the right price or right area for dartmoor? V. Friendly. Bickley Mill Link

Also there is the Rock inn – we go there for nice meals but I think they have a dinner and room deals on most of the time:The Rock Inn

BTW if you need any tips on where etc give us a bell. I know mostly SE dartmoor the best from Plymouth to Exeter

GP’s take part in referral management, meaning that their referrals are analysed to see if appropriate or not i.e. are they under or over referring etc.

So to get this right – GP’s are analysed for over or under referring so there “is” an emphasis on what GP’s are referring? Therefore is there not some pressure on GP’s to keep referrals to a sensible limit? That was my point!

Anyway the point is he is still in a lot of pain and its progressing , not static, therefore many other things could be occuring rather than “just ” a trapped nerve or pulled muscles.

BTW Vets also get a raw deal from joe public as they expect everything for free just like the NHS! We are not without critisism.

Yeh agree with Drac but I would have though they would have referred him already although I think GP’s have targets for keeping referrals down? Maybe I am wrong and synical – yeh phone them to get referred but I think In my experience sometimes thats easier said than done?

I am a Vet and although not an expert in human medicine and no way is this my professional opinion does sound like something to get investiagted further. Poss with the leg and arm numbness and “pins & Needles” could there be some nerve compression originating in your neck region. Did this start suddenly? It doesn’t necc mean fracture etc as I get sciaticia in my legs d.t an old slipped disc and I get it now and agin but If I were you I would either see a different Doc for a 2nd opinion or got to casuatly and get them tyo work you up ?

Just thought I would defend Rutalnd with this update.

The Jersey has been packed ready to go since the order was placed, however the delays have been with the Specialized shoe, that still looks like it will be another week until stock is available nationwide. Obviously I understand how frustrating this is, and more than happy to do a good will gesture like a goody bag of tubes and puncture kits for free. As one of the biggest specialized dealers and one of their top sellers they are endeavoring to get these to us and on to you as soon as possible. I look forward to a reply and im here personally to do anything you require. Apologies again for this delay.

Well thats the best and most personal apology I have had from a bike shop/mail order service – Thanks Rutland Cycles! Communication from sellers I think is paramount to stop us demanding Joe Public from getting arsey and frustrated!

Have you lost weight recently? Coz you store quite a lot of flab over this area and when you loose weight the “padding” goes and your pin bones will be closer to the saddle. The shape of your buttocks will change and thus your saddles may not be comfy – sometimes a thin saddle, although looking uncomforatble may suit more – thats what I have found over the years – also are you riding for longer than compared to 6 months ago?

Well looked at most peoples comments and most of the reviews of the DT Swiss RWS and they all say expensive but good – although with a plastic lever. I want to set it and forget it as have tubless so just still want a QR instead of a bolt through – if it breakes I’ll get the NC-17 QR axle if needs be but I like to give things a chance even if a few people slag things off. I have bough a fair few thing in my time that people have stuffed up, broken or couldn’t fit properly and have found them to work well and last! No disrespect BadlyWiredDog – I also do mostly XC and freeride and ride within my limits mostly so don’t like crashing and wrecking my pride(s) and joy.

Just bougth the Conversion kit 10mm with bolt through and a DT Swiss QR axel not for any stiffening but because my rear QR combinations have not sured movement on my Orange Five. Think going up to floating 203mm rotors and M4’s make the QR’s shift. Hopefully the ratchet will make a bit of difference – didn;t want the bolts as want to still have teh QR functionality. Thats my Five pence anyhow. NOt fitted it yet – get it tomorrow hopefully.

Right – the squeaking has returned after a few rides and a few washes. Its def the QR’s and teh copper grease works for a while. 2 things – I have wound cut innertube around the swing arm(s) and that has deadend teh noise from teh clattering cables inside as treat. I have also ordered a 10mm conversion kit for the proII hubs with a DT Swiss through axel – Its not really for the slight increase in stiffness but the extra clamping I can get on the clamp. Should stop it shifting as I have 203mm rotors on teh back and I think the braking and bouncing means I think its moves a little – mud gets in and then starts to sweak – if not it will be an expensive upgrade ;)

WOOOOW – could be a jok but then again from sheldon’s pages I am not so sure – don;t think MTB’ing in mud and crappy stuff would help keeping his chains clean – he would be there for hours ;)

Hi all – got an update which is a bit crap IMHO:

Thank you for your order (******), we are currently out of stock of the product(s) that you have ordered. We shall be ordering the item(s) today so this should only add a couple days to the delivery time. When the items(s) come into stock we shall send them out on a next day delivery service.

If any item(s) have to be put onto a back order with the suppliers we shall email letting you know the status of your order.

I ordered this LAST THURSDAY and they have only just put in a stock request – don’t think thats up to many internet shops and bike shops with online shops do you?

Yup – been there myself a few times – went over the boot lid one time when I was young. I think she probably shocked her enough to think twice and you probably dont want the hassle of making a statement and witnesses etc. If she hit you and damaged something then I would def. report it – From frequent commuter ;)

I use Citroclear – get it from work – bit irritant but does not strip off paint like xylene (in some carb cleaners I think – or used to) which is cacinogenic ;) £25 for 5 litres – just spray or soak and bob’s your uncle – strips it dry and then relube!

I just got the XTR crankset and its lovely – also smashed the outer ring on several big rocks on the weekend and thought oh no – and the titanium ring was not even marked! I think some XTR is worth it and some not i.e. shifters and crankset ottherwise SLE or XT (FM, RM, CASS etc)

Right – for anyone thinking of tubless I didn’t have any serious problems with my mountain king 2.2 proctection tyres this weekend although use plenty of soap suds on both wheels and try and inflate both – my front kept deflaiting and couldn’t think why…. Then I realised I hadn’t tried to inflate the tyre with only soap suds – I started again and hey presto – hopefully Stan’s and I will be great friends – rode out Sunday without any problems.
