Is there are way to make Campag 8 speed ergos work with a shimano rear mech and 8 speed cassette?

I have 8 spd campag shifters and works well with a campag 8 speed rear mech and 7 speed shimano cassette (as the 7 speed shimano cassette has the same spacing as a 8 speed campag one)

I think with the 8 shim cassette you would need a widget to change the shift ratios:

    Called a shift mate:

Or you can do a bodge with the cable clamp position IIRC :)

We have devised our prelim routes but would be interesting what you guys did :)

I hear one guy did it on sausages alone?

Quite happy to eat lovely junk food and not feel guilty about it – another plus :)

    Cheers rootes :)

No were doing it with vehicle support so no panniers and staying in B&B’s so not too horrendous on that front :)

I think from all the comments I’ll carry on until say Feb then step up with some bigger rides and a few back to backs – I think that sounds feasible to me :)

@rootes – yeah email them to me (email in profile) – be interesting to see what speed you avg’d etc – give us an idea of what to expect :)

Don’t lean over too much esp on roundabouts (esp as they often have diesel spill on them) as said above and also cross white lines and rail tracks at 90 degrees not at an angle – they are my best tips for commuting :)

Cool – well did a 90 Km last weekend but was only 3.5 hours ride time so as you say long and steady rides are probably the way to go to get my arse used to long days – I got some arse butter as well :) Oh and getting some uber comfy short/tights etc for Xmas :)

Cool – thanks D. I am trying not to over do it and be bolloxed by May and not be interested in cycling at all (as I have been there before) if you know what I mean :)

Got XL as I am 6ft but have a very long back – most reviews say 6ft1 and over most guys wear the XL – If you click the buy button they are still available – not the view item – that seems broken?

No not for the front (sorry wasn’t clear of me) – but thought the link maybe useful if the OP wants to do a bearing change at the same time :)

As above the only difference is the with the “steel retainer clips” on the 20mm adapters :)

    foxyrider

yup get the 20mm kit and then just do a service type breakdown and swap the innerds :)

Edit: Front just FYI as you just swap out the adapters

Usually go on 100 – 110 psi for speedy road riding and commuting/winter slow riding 90-100 – 71 Kg here :)

Apparently it (and the FIT damper) is a PITA – Simon @ Loco tuning suggested just to send him the damper and he’d service it :)

BTW these are the instructions 8O

    – I have sorted what I needed – I used the Domcollapse js (have used before) to hide each stage map until the stage text is clicked to reveal it – easier than rollovers :)

TBH Nutcracker is well draining and solid however some of the bolders maybe a mit slippery – why not go through the traverse and up peck and down ravens then up water then out to Hound Tor (by road) – all pretty ridable there in the wet?

The only other place which is spot on in the wet is around Hennock ext for a HT but not gnarly but if you dont know you way around I might have a GPS :)

Most of Princetown stuff is also ridable in the wet?

Realman – yeah thats my decent training run i.e. 4+ hours :) (not I am not super fast)

TBH I have done it clockwise and anti-clockwise and its best clockwise :)

I usually go down the valley to Chudleigh as its a nicer run than the Moreton road :)

Anythime is fine but yeas dry and low wind is preferable – done it in blowey and mankey weather and it s horrible out on the moor!

Realman – yes I’m in Bovey :) – Give me a mail (in profile) – up for a ride anytime esp on the road bike as I don’t have anyone to ride with regularly :)

    :( – well that’s 2 out of 3 – majority rules :)

The fence is offensive, the lawn needs cutting and the steerer needs cutting :)

Edit – some may also not like the stem angle ;)

Well were talking Veloce 8 speed retro! (more the frame rather than the reused group set etc :@)
