That’s funny – I ordered a 46 SIDI dominator 5 and fits like a glove – I am a 46 in other shoes as well – I wonder if you are a wide fit (Mega version) then narrow std would come up a bit shorter?

Every fork I have bought when cycled without frame felt awful until fitted IMHO :)

I did a quick article on old Candys – most of which is pretty similar all round i.e. internals except the clips?

    1. Wack a Torx bit in that’s is sl bigger.
    2. Just tap it out – if its rusty it may explain why its tight?

I have a 46 in the road shoe and 46 in spech and I would say about the same but the road shoes are narrower than Spesh IME – However I have skinny heals and the SIDI are not a good fit around hte ankle – I did however take the sole out (which are a bit crap TBH) and put my own footbed in and they are now quite comfy :)

I’m training for JOGLE next year (but don’t like to talk about it ;) ) – I aim to do base fitness with a few longer rides mixed up with indoor high intensity – spinning/rollers etc – but I too took Friday and Sunday off and did no biking at all – I over trained last winter and you just hit a wall – Keep it going yes but take plenty of days off if you are doing long stuff or intense stuff!

Two weeks is plenty of time to recover before Mountain Mayhem.

We expect a good finish in both re: Oktoberfest MTG!

Used to swear by XCPros’ but cornering is a bit scarey! Something with decent wider side knobbles IMO is better :) Like my Kenda Nevegals for a XC front tyre :)

@C_Klein – yeah looked the same but they obviously proto’d the rear carbon wishbones found on the XCPro2/3 Maxlights – maybe thats also an option in teh future but prob not?

Yeah still in post-proto from what I hear – final versions not in yet i.e. all colours for photoshoots/website etc?

What the hell is that C_Klein? That Lefty Fork kinda looks out of place ;)

I wonder if it will be inline with the other Maxlights? so XCPro3 £450 and the XC130 £300?

Yeah I’m not keen on the fork setup and anno bars either but the frame (which was why I posted the frame pics ;) ) I like :)

26″ or 29″? who cares! Just ride what you whatever floats your boat!
Don’t knock it until you try it maybe?

+1 – however not tried one yet – I don’t think its would make me go out an change all my kit but I’d certainly would at least ride one?

    Grease holds grit and rubbish.

True but its great at keeping water out – regular servicing it the key here not the amount of grease you use :)

lithium grease IME is quite hydrophilic so just turns into a mucky slop in the MTB world :(

When I run out of the Shimano stuff I might try that Castrol CL grease if its any good? Castrol LM is also pants!

Not normal – You might either need to tighten the bung up a bit more (if poss, don’t over tighten), emery the inside of the tube a bit if its shiney? or get a new bung.

However I wonder if you are over tightening the top cap. I presume you are doing the top tap bolt first then the steerer clamp bolts last?

Why not rebuild it with better spokes? Does sound a bit odd – I would have thought you might get a bit of flex or the odd broken spoke but to loose tension?
