The seatpost is 27.2 so IIRC yes its a 31.8 :)

Can you not get a multifit or is the mech old?

BTW got a Ribble Audax Frame for sale for £50

Ignore him, he’s just driving traffic to their insignificant website. You should never follow a link to a article looks like it’ll really annoy you. They get more traffic to their website and get paid more by advertisers.

    True :)

Castelli Sorpasso – Expensive but very very comfy – great pad – currently not used for MTB but will in the summer :)

I think like other 27.2 seat posts there is less to grip therefore need to be tighter and therefore deform the out tube and thus a slower return hence higher psi?

@OW – not used it loads this winter as been mostly on road and HT but there were a few score lines on the upper to start with but no new ones – doesn’t seem to affect the function though.

After fettling the squeak is much better and I routinely clean it in between rides and put a tiny bit of fork oil around the seal – all seems fine – the only thing I could do it to replace the remote with something a bit more heavy duty considering I always seem to OTB every other ride ;)

There was a bit of rotational play to start with and developed a little for and aft play but after servicing the latter was removed :)

I Clipped it to my camelback check strap and secured it with a bit of good old electrical tape :)

    Update:

Phoned him – Seemed a bit slow on the uptake – was under the impression it still was under warranty? I bundled all the bumf into the box which I had kept inc the old warraty card.

I think his mate may have suggested to him it was new but it was 2 years old when I sold it. It was advertised as used but in good condition – after explaining the situation on the phone to him and that although he had had it for only 6 months there was no warranty and “I am afraid yes I was sorry it had died but that is the way of things” – I even offered him the service centre number but suggested it probably was not viable to to it economically.

True – yes I will if it comes to it – Just confused as I would be annoyed yes but as with all purchases (new or second hand) if they fail out the warranty then you either try and fix them or have to replace them – If/when he phones I expect all will become clear – one way or another :?:

I left a message on his answer phone suggesting I am confused to why he is trying to contact me/my mate as it was working fine when I sold it and for the first few months?

Maybe its not about a refund – maybe its just if it can be fixed or something simple but I don’t think I cam be of any help TBH! I did use my backup mobile not my main phones !

New tyres are often difficult IMHO – try soaking them in hot water first or pump them up with a tube overnight – also scrub the beads with washing up liquid to get the manufacture coating off as well?

All depends on how much and how muddy it is when you use them – If you stick to their service intervals you can’t go wrong but that may be too much hassle?

Either there is something wrong with your calipers or something wrong with your mechanical skills ;) I have had a set of ultegras on my road bike for the last year and haven’t touched them once?

BTW don’t set your brake pads too close to your rims as you will find you will have more issues with alignment and rubbing if the wheels are flexy or a bit out of true?

It depends on how much you use them TBH and their agae as 2010 Fox forks onwards IMHO last longer between services then pre 2010 – I do an aircan service say every 6 months of average use and a seal clean on my 2010 fox’s every say 3 months (as I have more than one MTB).

A quick guide(s) I wrote here if interested:

IIRC the new evo has a different axle so whereas before you would need to swap axles with the end caps (narrow bore section) you can just swap end caps :) (already has a 10mm bore).

As said above – doesn’t work with all frame geoms and as STATO says put some elecrical tape under the frame before mounting :) prob best to stick to 23c – 25c and above would be a bit tight !

Pretty much as Realman says – Mine has mounts so I run full guards but used to use the race blades and are a good second if you have no mounts :)

Yeah as above – you are free to swap cassette, chain, cranks – most SRAM and Shimano Shifter/mech combos should stay as a pair :)

The ENVE ones are UST ready but you need to use a valve and rim strip.

Yup – that’s the culture we live in – “deny everything unless proven otherwise” ! It stems from the old car insurance tip “don’t say sorry as that will suggest you are to blame”?

Sometime you would love to be a fly on the wall :)

    Nice one Muddy :)

Was a drizzley ride this morning but everyone was fairly patient and someone even started to overtake and backed off when I started to overtake a parked car. Makes a difference when people are not in so much of a rush and the roads are more quiet!

As a bit of background if anyone is patient behind me then I always wave!

Road bike, HT, FS, DH? ;) would range from 5Kg to 15Kg – at a guess for a large average FS with box around 15kg with box n’ stuff?
