actually, Salsa do a 445mm fork which was new late last year iirc, http://www.salsacycles.com/forks.html top one i think. in the old days of easy credit and confident jb prospects i was planning to get one just for the straight looks. ISON distribution got them in stock in November.

anyways 10mm aint that much give or take, you could always fit a slightly lower profile front tyre? what bike is it to go on?

actually, as my bro has just pointed out, if i can afford the Hope, what better time to buy a British made product especially as it has a decent reputation…

ta, good to hear the Hope is well recommended as usual, have never had an issue with their stuff so will prob go for them, the sealing on the Ai-03 was pretty rudimentary and im surprised its gotten through 18 months of solid use to be honest. not a big fan of the 70’s style logos on the superstars so will pass on those.

tried the position adjuster grub screw? all my juicys came like this and needed winding out a bit then were fine, there was a sweet lever spot where they didnt hit the bar, i could reach them fine and power seemed to be best. afaik once hydro levers are pulled past a certain point the reservoir becomes a closed system in effect the total volume of fluid in use cant be increased you’re just adding spare fluid.

i think id trust them as far as i’d be able to push them with my little finger up a sandpaper slope against the prevailing wind and a lump of plasticene. nothing there makes me want that im afraid

isnt the benefit of ceramic to do with reduced friction from rounder balls? not longevity?

I’ve got a steel Hope BB in the CRC flood sale which is awaiting the end of a Shimano BBs death throes, looking forward to seeing how it does.

have a looksy at the cotic roadrat? youd get the frame and fork for 255 leaving you to swap bits over from “old stock” we all have lying around and another 145 for the wheelset so a bit over but tasty looking singleable steel rigid fun. for a complete bike option, hmmm sorry dont know but isnt it more fun to cobble one together?
