yep dreading our crt dying, its loads better than any new telly in colour and subtlety and detail and smoothness and warmth and looks even better when the signal was filmed in HD. imho HD is there to stop non CRT / lcd tellies looking quite so shite.

hi looks interesting but reviews make it sound less than useful for a fast workflow. im wondering about a thumb roller ball, last time i tried one it was much slower than a mouse though

save up for a macbook? mines 4 years old and runs like new, brilliant machine and fits your purpose well. although if you must have a 15″ screen you’re into daft money for a macbook pro…

as a tall person i always end up with a couple of inches of spacers under a stem, and a riser bar. this leaves the fork steerer much longer than it could be if i used a rising stem and flat (lighter) bars. there would be less steerer to twist along its length, and less steerer to flex around the bearing points and loftily held stem. if it wasn't for the lack of cash these days id be trying out a steep stem and a flat bar, and i suspect saving weight and losing some noodliness. (i weigh 15+ stone without any gear on…)

apart from a slightly longer stem, this seems logical yes?

nice gully action, what tyres please?!

shouldn't be an issue at all. make sure you don't cross thread it when putting it back on, take care the cable cant get kinked badly while in the bag.

nice! love the rigid forks they're great fun – had to sell mine though as advancing years meant the shoulder couldn't take the pounding any more 🙁

for some reason, the XT crankset looks wrong on that bike, not sure why and of course it's nothing more than vanity.

have you got a 26er rear you can try? in a pickle would that do to stomp up and down the road?

actually, i have a cracking sound in my 2006 Reign when im really pedalling hard. i think its the carbon shock cover plate which has split after one too many impacts. not that that helps you Kev. but its good to get it off my chest.

'Hi, I'm Adam, and my bike is 4 years old this week.'

    god that feels better 🙂

hmm id suspect the EBB still, hard to tell if it is or isn't the issue though. cassette not tightened enough (nor was the first?) but the rear axle doesn't sound healthy either. id check cassette lockring tightness then take a closer look at the hub for sure.

Hi Graham, yep full quality jpeg, same file to snapfish was much much better

used them a lot then noticed a year ago perhaps that the pic quality was dropping. I tried sending the same image to them and snapfish and compared the two. the photobox photo looked like it had been harshly jpegged and then sharpening 'enhancement' applied. the snapfish image had tons more detail, natural colours and less sharpening.

tried to get photobox to discuss the issue but nobody on the help email seemed to have any concept of these sort of things and i gave up on them.

an update to the LT would be nice, tapered HT especially and maybe a bolt through rear end if lucky.

check its not leaking inside the headlining. my hatch had a pipe join which was a friction fit sleeve right above the rear middle seat… genius

had to pop the deadlining down and reconnect, that was it. now i think twice about using the rear washer in freezing weather

actually i think i have a 2.35 advantage on a wheel in the garage, let me know if you need me to try it. sods law will have it on a 20mm front wheel i expect!

    ooh i like that nicolai!

Monk – over 200 miles away im afraid, off to measure now.

ok it has a 2.1 Bontrager MudX in it now. I've measured the chainstay and seatstay gaps at the point where the tread of the tyre is at its widest. tricky to get right but at the tyres very widest point the chainstays are about 72mm and the seatstays are over 80mm internal dimension.

The Endorfin is amazing, I've had the SS for a year or two and love it. using a rigid fork with it and the bike is just great fun to ride. I've ridden a few harsh aluminium frames and despite being really stiff and direct the frame is also really comfy. the dropouts are really deeply grooved into the frame with two M5 bolts either side, no issues at all with slippage. i'm 6 foot 2 on a large and its long enough to muscle around in your single gear but not a barge. totally in love with it 🙂

enormous flatscreen tellies most of which have a terrible terrible picture compared to CRT and totally dominate a room. especially when the owner has gotten used to a stretched image instead of a cropped one.

and the consequent easy creation of the HD market to suck more money out of people keen to get a decent image
