34 is a waste of time IMHO if you find yourself in granny/34 you will need the balance of a cat stay upright as you will only be doing 2MPH flat out spinning.

Also you might find that your top jockey wheel now fouls the 34 cog ( especially if you have a rapid rise mech. if you have low normal mech you might not notice this until you shift into the 34 cog!

My advice is Ebay it and by a 32 – although to be honest 28 is plenty – I am running a 11-28 Ultegra on my Cdale Prophet – and I find 28 is plenty low enough for the brecons and afan and abergorlech.

within 20 mins on a mtb from town centre you are on top of the
Marlborough downs or in a car 1hour to Brecon.

Bristol is great too, but the Marlborough downs will take some beating in the South West!

V12 with electric powered superchargers too good to sell or scrap – still drives like £70K’s worth and can give a M5 a run for its money:

the pace has a cramped feel for me as the top tube is shorter than most 19″ framed bikes so if your short the pace is fine, but if you are over 5 foot 10 your knees will hit the bars on the pace

I had a large Pace 303 in 2007 and found that with my Normal choice of a 90mm Stem the cockpit felt extremely cramped compared to my quiver of Large Dales, in fact I was hitting my knees on the handle bars when climbing.

i then fitted a 110 stem which made it feel slow steering and put too weight too far forward – which felt like an over bars accident waiting to happen. So I flogged it.

Anyway I am now contemplating a Heckler Vs Pace 405 and I got to wondering the RC405 would be as cramped as the 303?

I can see that the RC405 TT is 60.7cm while the 303 is 61.3 so I figure ZINGA the RC405 is even more cramped than the 303. I normally ride large dales and the Rush TT is 62.5, F3 is 62.2.

Has anyone found the RC405 so short in the top tube so as to make climbing a joke?

Well for start off guys, does it look like a carbon Taurine to you?

Also I have done 2000 miles on a lefty and the boot never needed to come off.

The advert is a pack of lies – Taurine? – how dodgy does it need to be.

best to use tubeless ready or UST tires – normal tires dont have the right wall structure to work without a tube also they can leak.

I have 6 bikes all tubeless – its a no brainer – ditch tubes = spend more time riding:

no more pinch flats, no more thorn punctures.

i had a thorn in a tire for 6 months before i even noticed it!

for best results use stans juice and make sure wheel rim and tire are clean for the initial set up – if you have a mavic ust rim and ust tire or Jones tubless ready or speccy 2bliss tire – they will seal and hold air for years – I have one which is still up after 2 years.

If you live near me I will show you how – Swindon Wiltshire J16 M4

the doblo is worse than dire – we had a demonstrator for the weekend and any distance over 25 miles instantly felt like 125 miles – the suspension/tyres make it seem like it bounces between nose & tail.

also it is noisier than than than a 1971 mini van.

the only thing the doblo is good for is it’s cavernous boot and the 1.9 litre deisel.

I got a Scudo instead – its so big I can fit my road bike in it width ways!

Pugeot and Citreon do version too (and the one with van doors is very cheap!

    My line up is:

Slime green Prophet as my daily commuter 2500 miles on the lefty max with zero service, and it still works perfectly.

Then for race duty its the Rush:

this bike will crash through anything and still come out smiling, its saved me from certain doom on too many occaisions.

and for nerve recking speed and a ride that will shake your fillings loose:

and when I am feeling nostalgic:

The canon 50mm f1.8 (new) is slow to focus and if used sub < F5.6 or > F8 chromatic abberation and purple fringing spoil most shots, reason = plastic lens elements and cheapo AC motor.

The mk1 50mm F1.8 (metal mount) if you can get a nice one, is optically far superior but not really useable under F2.5

The 50mm F1.4 also cant be used under F2.2 without compromise, but barrel distortion is acceptable and chromatic abberation is tolerable and bokeh is stellar, has to be the best value/performance in the 50mm line up

    I dont own a 50mm F1.0 L so cant comment on that.

For me the 80mm F1.8 is my most used prime
