I tried one last Septembe, I am 6 foot 1 and even with seat at it lowest point I was catching my head on the grab handle .

There is something wrong with design of this it feel clostofobick
like a Volvo v40

So I just walked away, so Try it out first, it might
Fit you if you you are like small say petite and under 5 foot 8

Criminal for what should be a large European car.

Mind you I take my car allowance 425 pm and as my company makes us use lex over 4 years I always go into garage thinking ok so this is going to cost me 20k, and then I just hand the car and no equity.

So what I do is use my allowance to pay off a 10k loan in years and have a car worth 6k paid for at the end

I am currently doing this with a discovery 3, but I do pop into dealers a couple of times a year to see what I could have.

I am done with new cars until I can get electric one that competes with a Tesla

You dont say but I suspect you are on a 1X bike?

If you are your best bet is to upgrade it to a double front chainset

All 1X bike have to bend the chain so much in top and bottom gears that back pedalling will always do this.

if you really want a good bike upgrade to a triple chasinset and you will be able back pedal as much as you want and you will be faster than anyone on a 1X bike!

I got this of ebay earlier this year, although it is a left hand lever with a short hose / front brake – that will have to change

So what want is a matching claiper and right hand lever..ideally with a long hose!

so I got frame and sanded it down to see and yes it defo cracked

cracked seat stay

then whilst looking for some forks for it I stumbled across a donor bike:

Donor bike

so from this wrecker I used the forks, Seat stay, cranks, chain (pc31 which my 0.75 wont even go into) seat post clamp and brakes.

Complete build

Which left me with a 17″ mc 30 frame with a stuck seat post

MC30 Stuck seatpost

Which came out quite easily after a quote for £120 from the stuck seat post man, and 3 hours of carefull filing:

removed with files

So Now I have a viable frame to make a small genius up for my daughter!

I still need a colour matched black/white seat stay for the 20 though…

I agree that the line above the brake mount looks suspicious, but I have never seen and bike fail there, has anyone else? if it cracked at least it wont be as expensive to get fixed or replaced as the carbon frame!

There had to be a reason why it so cheap!

Don’t go then,

I just got back from a week in morzine, took a fs 150mm bike which was totally unsuitable, on the first day I cooked my 160 rotors, and had to get 200mm fitted while I was there,

I have mavic 819 rims, and I was in the bike every night getting them trued up.

For the last 2 days I hired a gt fury which was perfect nothing broke on that.

Even the easy runs were equiv to red uk runs

I did the passportes du soliel 2 days in a row, next year I will just take my dh bike

You can’t really go wrong, especially if you can find. 2011 model on sale, just watch out for crc, kona reckon they are selling grey imports and you won’t get the warranty

The handlebar remote option has it pros and cons, I have lever versions on my bikes as once used to it you can operate them in a fraction of a second just have to plan ahead when approaching steep rocks.

If my bikes had the internal cabe routing for a dropper, I would go for remotes.

I also run mine with 1cm drop from full height for full speed on the smooth, I find dropping the C of G a bit makes everything feel a bit safer

get a disco van instead – miles better in many ways, space, comfort and heavier so better off road in the mud and snow.

I commute daily in this beauty

Get a 200tdi if you can about 25% better on fuel than a 300TDI, my 200tdi is on 195K and is running like a swiss watch..
