@dangeourbrain full Sunday roast from a local pub 👍

Yes both sides I did little lookup, I like to see where I am going when I’ve not done a route before :) and they say…

This roller coaster of a route hits the KOM and sprint in both directions. Start with a reverse ascent of the Igls climb before looping into
town and then climbing up to Igls again in the forward direction.

Be good and earn my delivery Sunday Lunch that’s coming…. :)

I may join you on Sunday if there is a group ride will depend on timings and how far your planning this week and see if it fits to what I had planned already :)

Stevious – this was the bit I missed really in that I don’t also think there is a best app and we all have different motivations and goals so it’s finding something that maps to that too and keeps you wanting to ride.

I don’t think there’s a ‘best’ app out there as they all have slightly different ways of keeping you engaged and motivated.”

Fulgaz is my main app been using for over 18 months, plenty of variety I’ve also got a Zwift Sub going (12 days so far!) been using that for some variety, group rides, did a STW one and this evening a Norco group ride, as well as the Tour for All mix of group rides and racing, thought have found the group rides as fast as racing.

Prefer the real life videos of Fulgaz vs the digital worlds of Zwift though.

I am having a couple days rest done a lot of miles these three days and Wednesday AM is Stage 3 of the Tour for All and I want to do better than my shocker of a Stage 2.

I will look to join another group ride though as really good motivation and encourages to push harder than I would on a solo ride.

Thanks Brian for organising really enjoyed that, strong pace all round great group. didn’t have much to give that last mile or two especially after the final sprint.

What time you likely to do on Sunday and where are the details, is it a meetup or a Zwift Event?

I’ve added Zwift recently for some variety to Fulgaz, first two Stages of tour for all I’ve done, had a tech issue on the second one slow start for that!

    Great idea for something different.

I’ve kerbed my outdoor riding, but shall continue with indoor riding but will most likely do more shorted rides rather than longer ones as I have more time as less commuting, will also walk if and when I can and run too. Thinking keeping fit during this is important but not to the point of exhaustion.

I used Fulgaz and have done for since October 18 they are doing a Euro Tour at the moment https://fulgaz.com/tour-of-europe/ with a code to cover the tour.

Longest ride I’ve done is about 3 1/2 hours non-stop since using, it’s been brilliant during the bad weather Feb and now the spring lock down.

For me it’s not so much training but just riding my bike, the training is a bonus of that, as I am not structured it’s just rides. Hence Fulgaz works for me as it’s just rides in the main, bar this Tour of Europe which that put together for the lock down across Europe.

The only pair I ever ordered came with a faulty freehub it wouldn’t freely back pedal, so sent them back for a refund which was dealt with promptly which was good :) that said they should have been QA’d before being sent out somewhere in the process.

It’s good to mix up the riding and running, did an indoor ride today, mountain biked Sunday and run tomorrow. Good to have variety 🙂

Nice Pics for me Coed Y Brenin tomorrow, maybe Llandgela on Xmas Eve after that will probably be a couple indoor rides due to time, might do something on New Years Day if I don’t do a Parkrun.

First outdoor ride for 6 weeks. Picked a crisp day for a trip out :)

Took mine out today not ridden it for while, still a joy to ride, is great on the technical bits, the downhill bits, find it a little sluggish on the climbs, so no rushing up hill more relaxed feeling on the way up, overall a very nice bike.

I’ve had an Atom for just over a year and use Fulgaz so my riding is all virtual road, the difference to my mountain bike fitness is simple beyond any expectation I had.

I’ve recently did the Full Beast at Coed twice in one day, my second lap less than 10mins slower than my first and still had energy in hand at the end which was a surprise as it’s a fair decent and good amount of climbing.

I also debated myself having a turbo vs all in one. I went all in one, there are a fair few old reviews kicking about the gear change (at least on mine) is quick.

I’ve an Atom so not sure if Fulgaz will work with a Pro but is a good app for just riding in an unstructured way, lot’s of variety maybe worth a try.

There is a 14 day trail with that.

Is it an Atom or a Pro/Trainer?

I have a Wattbike for almost a year now and used it all year round, I’ve improved my cycling, running and overall health dramatically as a result. I don’t use Zwift so can’t help on that, but understand updates have improved gear response, I use FulGaz.

It save masses of time as sometimes I don’t have time too get to a trail centre but an hour or so on the Wattbike can give a very good workout.

It’s the best thing I have bought for cycling and health and fitness and has had the biggest impact, as I can ride when normally I wouldn’t have time too, before work, other weekend commitments etc.

The only bad thing is I shouldn’t have procrastinated and bought one sooner than I did, oh and the standard saddle wasn’t comfortable for me at least.

Dickie I saw the Merlin prices on Shimano brakes too, makes it tempting as if you get 2-3 years out of them they’ve been good value…

I’ve had this with a rear brake recently went through a few pads till I replaced the caliper which basically sorted it, I’d replace the pad it would would work for a ride or so then get contaminted and repeat….. so as above suspect microleak, have had a few go like this, I still have spare pads, and have the bleed kit so have a misguided loyality…. I did think I was getting oil or fork spray on them but sadly it wasn’t that.

I don’t get on with SRAM brakes so maybe it’s time to revisit Hope…

For Balance I ordered some stuff on Sunday and it arrived Tuesday on there standard postage too, the items all showed in stock.

I don’t use them often but they had (or appeared to have) in stock what I needed, I ensured none had lead times….

Probably best to phone to see what’s what.

    I demoed a V3 at the weekend and have a V2.

Summary for me the V3 isn’t so good pedaling up hill bit of a slog, feels heavy mitigated by swapping to reserve wheels then it felt closer but still not as good as a V2

The V3 marginally more stable on the downhill and techy stuff, but this is outweighed by the uphill feel.

My average speed was the same on a V3 as a V2 on the same trail loop.

I rode the demo just under 20 miles.

For me the margin of difference was not enough and I felt my V2 the more fun, I don’t need longer reach so that isn’t a factor for me.

Not for everyone but an indoor trainer that can replicate climbs could be an option. I’ve been using one since October and now when I occasionally riding back in the open as it were the difference in climbing and overall bike fitness is quite amazing, very pleased with the results.

Second outdoor ride in 10 weeks on Saturday, after a busy few weeks with indoor rides being my main riding, an amazing ride around the Gwydir Maw (Marin Trail), indoor work has helped massively.

chakaping – your SolarisMAX review is pretty much my view too, almost word for word, it’s a an incredible hardtail and has so much stability and speed.   Had a great 25 miles around Glentress today such a fun bike and don’t feel utterly battered.

Probably the best best bike I’ve built up and I’ve built a few, love how it climbs, decends well, handling just spot on.

I’d given up on hardtails as didn’t really get on with them, so hadn’t ridden them for a few years, tried the SolarisMAX at Ardrock after the STW review, so pleased with the SolarisMAX
