Thanks again @dangeourbrain for waiting at the end and organising, that was much tougher than it looks and impressive times put down too, not what I’d normally do, great for variety though I would do again…. I think… :)

Yes Fulgaz is an app in it’s own right, it’s more solo rides thought they do events everynow and then with a leaderboard. The rides are video’s of real rides from around the world, new rides every Tuesday and plenty of hills and mountains :)

I’ve used it for 18 months now, I joined Zwift in May for a bit lockdown variety, I’ll run both apps for now as I like bits from both for now, if I have to cut costs I’d drop Zwift, do like the group aspect, adds a different dimension to virtual riding.

My legs are battered but I am still planning to be on tonight’s ride :)

Assuming I don’t get caught on anything work wise I will give this ago, I have a ride tomorrow morning already but it’s a short but hilly one, I’ll just eat well in the day should recover enough…. :)

I rode today and plan to join tomorrow Sunday Hills. Though for some reason today’s not very long or hilly ride really took it out of us so it could be a slow climb for me unless I wake up feeling very much up for it :)

I’ve got one had it 18 months best cycle item I’ve ever bought, made a huge different to me in fitness and health.

I did a blog post for them on the progress I made in the first year with it and have continued along the same theme, mainly use FulGaz but have dabbled in Zwift this month for Variety as hit 400 miles riding in April and 500 this month on the back on just generally doing a couple hundred a month so it builds a good base, also managed 35000ft of mainly virtual climbing this month.

I’ve just entered The60 which is a FulGaz event of 12 back to back rides 16-28th June.

For me it’s been and great purchase and also has made a bigger different to what real rides I get to do than I ever expected, in terms of both pace and stamins.

I won’t be riding this Sunday will be tomorrow, hope to hit 500 miles for the month, well I’ve only got 17 to do so I should do, but Sunday I need a rest as tomorrow will be my 10 consecutive day of either running or cycling!

Have a good ride, and hope to join one next week.

Going to struggle to Zwift this week I think, need to get some running in as well as some other riding too. Next week be good to do a commute ride 👍

@kelvinshuffle that’s why my running has been low this month signed up Tour for All few group rides been good and when you commit to them then they need to be done.

Can’t make commutes this week, I’ve another ride I need to get done and catch-up on some running, may do Sunday Hills if there is one but again tentative this week as depends on where I am at with a few targets I set myself.

I’ve added a mount to my trainer make it easier to use the companion app and save balancing tablet on bars, so am all set for more zwifting 👍

Have good rides and races this week

I don’t normally do that sort climbing in month just with lockdown been doing more indoor work than normal tend to average 21000ft a month.

I wouldn’t normally have done the Alpe mid week, Watopia Pretzel yesterday and then Sunday Hills, I’d have put something easier in there but needed to finish the Tour For All and I enjoy Sunday Hills as it’s a good fun way to start the day.

That was good enjoyed that good fun, takes my climbing for the month to just shy of 31000ft! most I ever done in a month. Looking forward to trying my legs out on some welsh trails when the reopen.

Watopia Pretzel this morning that’s quite hard going, done now completes the tour for all.

Tomorrow’s Sunday Hills will be interesting I’ll see how I feel on the first climb done 12000ft of virtual climbing in 7 days now.

That’s a decent improvement on your PR and a decent weeks climbing with more to come :)

Opps typo it’s 4500ft :) still thinking about it though.

I will be in June attempting a 1478m then a 1785m climb which is about 10000ft be the most I’ve tried in a day, its climbing both sides of the Stelvio Pass, as supposed to be doing it for real in June (well one side from Bormio) but that is on FulGaz.

First time I’ve ridden it on Zwift, didn’t keep track on the time was a nice surprise when I crossed the line I settled into a tolerable pace, also there are some respites on the climb where the gradient lessens, I’ve done it a couple times on Fulgaz it felt pretty similar.

Historically I’d been the rider at the back on the climbs but since indoor riding I’ve got better at hills, still some anxiety at the prospsect, I am already thinking about the 4500m on the Saturday ride!

Good luck on the PR challenge for the Alpe.

Sorted I think my weekend ride logistics I will join the 8:30 Three Sisters ride, I’ll give the Alpe a miss at 6:30, I did sneak a sub hr on it this week which was nice.

See you virtually on Sunday 8:30 – Bee kit I assume? I’ll make sure I am dressed appropriately.

I’ve already done the Alpe once this week !

I felt ok other than I pushed a bit harder to try and catch the others so a faster ride than I had planned, good ride and it was quite warm too!

Tomorrow is running, Saturday I am doing Watopia Pretzel as part of the last stage of Tour For All joining the 9am Group ride, that rules me out of doing something more extreme (4 Horsemen) on Sunday as I don’t think I’ll have the legs for it.

Sunday is TBC for me I need to see if I can do a outdoor local cycle on Sat PM that would free up Sunday. Royal Pump Room 8 route would probably be my sort of Sunday Level this week.

I was cutting that fine, up early bit of food, warm up, the clock on the radio in the gym is obviously a bit slower as I had what I thought was three minutes yet it had started when I jumped on the bike, tried to catch you but couldn’t sustain the pace to do so, but I’ll take a sub 30min 11.4 mile ride as my commute.

Now a lap of Harrogate Street Circuit on Fulgaz

Have a great Thursday hope you had a good commute

Agree @oop north good range, I’m not big on the race element though enjoy the detail that’s going on in the thread, Sunday Hills ensures I do hills as sometimes I don’t do enough of them, committing to a ride is helping get some in, and looking forward for my first commute ride tomorrow.

Good work from the organising committee 🙂

I could do 6:45 and that would be a perfect warm up to the other ride.

See pre-covid I did early exercise so WFH or WFO similar just WFH affords longer distance in the am potentially.

If it’s a 30m I could do that and the other ride as that should be 30mins too.

Though today is a well needed rest day so no commute!

What time and how far is the virtual commute? I’ve another ride I need to do tomorrow on another app but think it’s quite short.

4 Horseman would count as Sunday Hills surely it’s got a lot of climbing.

There is still one more weekend in May after this one, might do it next weekend instead see how my legs a feeling.

Was going to attempt 4 Horseman this weekend, but I see I can’t do the final leg of the Tour For All on Monday, as I’d hoped will see if that changes. Will do the longer group ride Watopia Pretzel and then another ride to at least make the same distance as Horseman but not the climb :) most likely a Fulgaz Ride. Hopefully join another group ride soon.

London Pretzel looks a decent ride.

I can see how it would work well for a huge group as you’d fall into natural groups and your right being at the back is tough on morale.

I’ve pretty much talked myself into to trying it now, and will working my weeks exercise around it. I am good at self motivation once I’ve set a goal.

4 Horseman looks an interesting challenge……I might do that Sunday for a challenge over the weekend, Saturday have a light ride, I’d start that a bit earlier seems more suitable as a solo it’s the sort of distance and climbing that doesn’t map to chasing riders up hill :)

@oop north similar I’d not be able to sustain that wattage over that distance :) now 2.8 w/kg that seems more possible, anyway we will see how we go tomorrow, I did ok last week should be fun, probably more so when it’s done and on reflection :)

It will be the. first time we have tried it so be interesting how it comes and the quality etc….

I reckon if I keep with your with average I won’t make the end :). But we will see I am looking forward to it but ended up doing more riding today than I thought I would so expect to be in a world of pain at times.
