    I’ll join you Saturday that length and the start time suit perfectly with how I saw the weekend and was just wondering what do, so will do this and FulGaz ride I think.

    Will make sure I have swapped to the MTB before the start.

    @robbo1234biking I’d have done the same if I hadn’t committed, as didn’t need the mileage.

    That said felt good, and feel all the better for it, fastest up the climb in the last 30 days albeit that was the Horsemen and Uber rides.

    I filmed that :) , the off road stuff is a challenge as on an indoor trainer you don’t have to worry about slowing for corners and so the speed get’s out of kilter and that amplifiers the undulations.

    I have a smaller screen than you but I know what you mean about the motion feeling, and that also happen on the other trial routes.

    I’ve used FulGaz for a couple years now I hope you enjoy some of the other routes road and off road it’s a good tool, I do a large amount of the road stuff on there, as they do translate obviously better to indoor :)

    @robbo1234biking thanks, that sounds a good idea I’d probably give it a miss doing two weekends in a row though if you doing a group ride 😂

    Thanks @oppnorth preparation for me was key well rested and then just focus on the end goal, it’s definitely not an easy ride out and I did with 4.8miles have a wobble and questioned if I could do it, but took some time to recompose myself and pushed on, as I’d be annoyed to be that close, albeit still a long way from the finish climb wise.

    Thanks @Garry_Lager for joining us, that is one tough ride and one I don’t plan to repeat. The final climb nearly had me, my 5th time up the Alpe but had to stop a couple times which I don’t normally do, to regroup mentally as much as anything to tell my self I could do this as well as a short rest., the last five miles were brutal. Glad I had rested and prepared not one for tired legs….

    The bit on the flats takes it out of you more than you think then that climb. 88.79 miles all in, with the roll down the hill at the end, and no I wasn’t going to make it a 100 I was done 😂

    Thanks for the Good Luck, I expect The Uber to be between 5 – 6hrs in total, I’ve Pie and Chips at the end to look forward too as motivation :)

    The Uber is proving as popular as I expected…. LOL

    I am now on day two of pre-ride rest, Chinese Carb Load scheduled for tomorrow night and another rest day tomorrow so will have had 3 days exercise rest and 7 days off the bike, don’t think I can do more than that to be ready physically.

    I’ll check the Zwift app tomorrow as companion says there is an update.

    Good luck to those of you doing the Mega P it’s a good ride, another epic Zwift ride.

    I won’t be riding Sunday planning a recovery walk and a bit of car washing.

    @robbo1234biking – The Alpe isn’t the best ending and it’s not that long since we last did it so I get that it’s not something to look on positively :) I probably will take the free KM on the way down though I’ll see how I am feeling as not ridden that far or long indoors or out!

    I did a big ride today 58miles and 6400ft of climbing on the other app so there is extra distance and the a bit more climbing but I think if I get the pace right early on and eat well during the rides should get it done.

    I am also not riding now till Saturday as need to do some running next few days and then have two clear days rest but will have had a week bike rest, so that should help too, I am actually looking forward to it as a personal challenge really, I might make it I might not but going to give it a damn good go :) but I need at least 73 miles to hit my mile target for the Month so there is that to aim at too.

    @bigyim when I did The Mega it was 4 hours so I’d say that’s about right.

    I’ve put an invite out for The Uber, I’ve done the Mega earlier in the year revisit :)

    The Uber is only a little bit further :) It will be Social Pace or I won’t make it to the end! I like the challenge of it though, be my longest ride ever if I do it.

    Next Saturday is pencilled in for the Mega @forge197.

    Thinking I will do the Uber between Xmas and New Year as there wont be as much visting of family (if any) this year.

    Yes I will do a bulk invite over the weekend for the Uber next weekend, I’ll not be offended it no one else wants to do it :)

    I am not zwifting this weekend I have 3 stages of the Tour of Africa to finish tomorrow as been away thinks it’s about 65 miles and 6000ft of climbing over three rides….. and I’d like to do a run Sunday. I’ll be up for a Zwift ride next weekend though :)

    Good ride that, was tough on that Gravel Bike to the jungle, really energy zapping, glad I swapped over to the road bike at the end of the Jungle for the final road bit, will know for next time to use the Gravel on the Jungle and not on the way!

    Neil helped pace the last 5 miles I’d have probably backed off without that so thanks for that :)

    Thanks for the Monday invite I’m going to do another ride from the Tour of Africa I am doing on Fulgaz, so shall miss that, see you Sunday, good ride this morning I finished off the final lap to make it 8 in the end not bad for a lap hater:)

    I’d may up for doing the Uber on the 28th would do two (15min) rests around 25 and 50 miles and then a shorter one before the Alpe just after the final sprint.

    Happy to setup a meetup nearer the time as can’t setup more than a week ahead, won’t be sprinting round it, be good to have a end of lockdown v2 challenge !

    I would be up for another long one end of month, I’ve done Mega but would do again and would like to to Uber, so will do either and whatever the consensus is, 28th Saturday seems better as can rest/recover Sunday then :)

    I am not a fan of Laps so the The Full PRL I’d have to consider carefully if I actually can be motivated to do it when/if that one comes up.

    Great Effort everyone, thanks for the company, went quickly and I enjoyed it, after my poor performance last Sunday this felt good, great challenge and nice to have done it, worked well I thought as a social group ride a good way to do these longer rides.

    Thanks for organising and good to complete as we have talked about it a few times on the Sunday Hills ride.

    I’ve had a large take away curry to carb load.

    Got some new cycle shorts today too so will try them out tomorrow and swap if not good at a stop.

    I’m not looking to do sub hr Alpe tomorrow, have done before but it’s different when that’s all your doing/done be glad to get up it and would expect mid to late 60’s

    Feed stop ideas sound good we should recap those on group chat tomorrow so we know what we are doing.

    Carb load you say – Finally something I am good at! Been preparing for this for years now with the carb loading!

    I’ve been doing this for sometime too, and it comes all too easy, Gregg’s Doughnut and also as we were in M&S an over hyped Santa’s Yumnut but we shared that yesterday, might taper a bit today on that front….. :)

    Agree 😂. I always start at the first timed bit which turns out not to be the actual climb but the loop it ends abruptly then the hill one starts gets me every time 😂

    I’ve never used Discord so hopefully we won’t be needing that at the weekend as not sure have time to sort and test :), we tend to do comms on the chat in companion on the group rides.

    I ride a fair few mornings a week normally this week bit different due to resting for Saturday, I don’t always ride Zwift rides in the mornings usually Fulgaz, I’ll might pop in a Wednesday commute next week if WFH all week.

    Assuming they arrive in time just ordered in some flapjacks from Flapjackery, failing that I will see if I can get a Pain au Chocolat and a Croissant lined up.
