yeah in a lot of ways it makes more sense to stay in derby, it was really finding the balance between me being near campus and gf living somewhere interesting. to be fair wth clinical stuff i might not be in derby or nottingham but for late night studying etc derby makes more sense. hmm a recce awaits

yeah not sure ill spend much time in the casino but good to know. riding is important but given time restraints, day to day stuff will take precedent probably

couple of mates grew up there so ill tap them for info too. im def leaning towards living in nottingham and riding/commuting to derby. hmmm glad i held onto that singlecross frame

i will still only be earning 50k

as said, i think you’ll find this is the bare minimum for londoninium. however should you wish to invest some in my nigerian bank deposit system i can happily arrange to find you suitable accommodation for a paltry 45k.

if you fancy a change and got that sort of income why not? you can always move back to rural place if it’s not your thing. fill yer boots

    Here is the section:

Any chance you took the direction for
your take from your reading of Faraday?

I probably had him in mind.
    Didn’t I cite him?

    No, you didn’t.
    Maybe you should have.

And, uh, then there’s a section here
on the declaration of the rights of man…

..and citizen and *contrasets* attempt to
    apply it to women’s rights.

    It’s funny your phrasing
reminded me of a piece I read years ago.

It’s something to do with women’s rights.

got 50mm f1.8, 28mm f2.8 and 50-150 f2.8 (pick up the second 2 next week) so decent (not amazing) fast glass. ive decided to go for a s5 pro, its got better colour and high ISO performance than the d200 and is £500 new with warranty, so half the price of a d300. its got fat files and slow write speed, also slow auotfocus i think but for me its the best compromise for what i want to do. (flickr in my profile, or click on my name)

hopefully if can make some pocket money or feel i can justify then a d700 or new incarnation of full frame will find a home in my bag 😀

    anyone using a s5 pro?

most of the photos i take are in low light, bars indoors etc and i had thought of getting a flash but in most situations where i take photos its pretty intrusive (more so than just the machine gun noise from the shutter)

oh god, just spoken to folk who reckon ISO 640 on d200 is like ISO 1000 on the d40!

    fontmoss

im still tempted to get the d200 as a stopgap until i get a d700 😀

sorry yeah the dock would be used with a 2nd gen nano, ill have a look at those suggestions. i like the soundsticks but something that works independently of the comp would be handy

no problem with DNA taken at birth? wtf?

so if it becomes possible to identify people who may at some point have a heart disease or other illness this info can be used in the same way as the story here and youre turned down for jobs?

why on earth would you want your DNA taken? so we can prosecute criminals? if we all have registered DNA no-one commits a crime and gets away with it?

yeah the harmons do appeal, ill think about it.

as for the laptop yeah all that stuff applies to a mac too, i was more looking for a specific model folk would recommend, 400 or under prob 13 or 15″ screen and 2gb of ram would be fine, its word documents etc she needs to use. possibly going to get a big monitor and keyboard etc for existing laptop so that would be transferred over

sorry i was meaning 1 or 2gb of RAM, portability would prob be a factor because if she’s working freelance she’ll want to be able to work out of the house sometimes ad sit in the sun sometimes

cheers samuri and drac, you’re right some look fine on my screen but are pitch black on others’ screens-im in the process of changing exposure levels and replacing some of them. its also the fact i dont have a light meter on my camera that will work with my e series lenses (another good reason to get a d200/300) and end up under exposing.

mr smith i may fire you an email if thats ok? im interested in hearing from a working photographer that sees it as a job rather than their passion. sadly i am someone who fires off pics everywhere. im sorry but im seeking help. im with you on the gear freaks though, same as cycling some folk like bits more than using them.

its not the composition thats led to the amount of clicks dooge just taking several dif types of pics every day. are you flickr’d? im always keen to see other people’s work

search the net and a bit of practice should see you right, talkphotography.co.uk is a good forum. im using an old manual lens and its hard work (no light meter) but feel im starting to get an idea of what aperture and shutter speed to use now-but i worked out ive probably taken a few thousand pictures since christmas
