i think you're right but i think its unlikely to happen sadly, even singlespeed central (same importer perhaps?) isnt much cheaper

horses for courses really, with regard to jungle i cant see any reason why a company would not sell stuff for as high a price as they could get, given the rate of exchange based on king kit etc then niner fork is in line with that, its 300 US dollars but most stuff is a chunk cheaper in the states.

yeah ive worked in a bike shop and id be surprised if you could find a niner much cheaper than from jungle but im also curious as to why charlie and chevin dont have them on their sites

bb shell would def be an issue i would have thought, know someone who fitted road chainset to a mtb but as said above needed to skip spacers

i have a gf ferrous and i think weight is just the trade off with steel frame, ebb and big wheels-im still thinking of getting another old rig frame as a lightweight racey thing but i imagine the swift will be the same as the ferrous-bit heavier lot lovelier overall than alu.

plus i think i might get a singular fork to jack up the front on the ferrous, in time* ill prob look at the ti frame. i think a test ride will sort your head

it looks good dont get me wrong but in that short clip we see his wife loads, we find out what has happened to the world and we see at least 2 of the major human interactions on their journey -ok its a trailer but the suddeness and unexpectedness of him meeting anyone is lost, im just worried the loneliness and quietness of the book may get lost in an attempt to bring in crowds.

that trailer gives away more about events preceding their journey than the book does! looks like there are going to be far too many people in the film, bah humbug

theyve made the road into a film? thats the best book ive read all year, damn thats too soon for some studio to screw it up for me 🙁

i think in general book adaptations are getting better but comic adaptations? such tosh which is a shame because if anything film is becoming a medium better adapted to bringin comic books to the screen. not that any book or comic should be allowed to be a film until everyone has been made to read them.

do i ride both the same? gearing wise you mean? if so then no, i have a cross bike which i ride to uni and have been riding in its own right until i got the flu recently, its set up 42:16 which is fine but prob too big for any cross races. Also my 29er mtb which has been set up as 34:18 for the last year but im changing to 34:19 because im not riding nearly as much after going back to uni 🙁

only bikes ive got are both ss, love em except after long layoffs and even then they're still fun

cheers guys this thread is going well, interesting to see that even for such a well established component there is a lack (for mtb) of quantative info but those that use them off road really feel the benefit. Won't be on my shopping list for a very long time if ever but keep the replies coming
