sorely tempted to hook up for some lessons but tbh some time on the bike (and cash!) would be a good start, not ridden in anger this year :'(

well done jedi on carving out a niche* in something that you both enjoy and are clearly good at, got a lot of respect for that.

nope you're all wrong. one gear is the future. No need to shift and counter shift, light weight system and minimal maintenance, what's not to like?

pretty sure 220- wasn't conceived by gyms but i think it is applied to an untrained heart, can't remember details but it's related to starlings law and how much blood the heart can pump before it stops filling adequately (ie is based on science and not made up)

i always wonder with these if its worth buying it and then tryin to locate the owner? they'd reimburse you (i think!) and then you'd know it'd get home eventually

impractical prob stupid but it'd be ace to see the look on someones face 😀

i know when i increase mileage running i get sloppy technique and knees are all over the shop, could be something similar on the bike plus if you've been pushing a big gear?

crikey, get lectures on pharm stuff and not aware of that with nsaids hence asking

cold sores is potentially because immune system already compromised, there is potentially an argument given that they inhibit COX 1 which is protective but i think its more associated with GI probs

TI, have you been training hard?

might be worth having a swatch at way shoes and pedals are set up, if foot points out etc

sounds like a good GP though which always helps 🙂

crikey, i havent heard of nsaids being bad for healing before? is it personal experience?

    fontmoss

oh I see! well id guess most of the time you're on a hardtail and can still lead them comfortably? if so id say keep yer bits and invest in some custom geometry-some indy fab would be a-mazing

could always be cheeky and see if you can get in the grassroots team?

im with you smuzzy, 2 pairs of kayanos that i use for the 'gym'*

anonymouse, I think its more the lateral collateral ligament thats hurting, my knowledge of ITB is more that it drags the patella out of its natural tracking line, could be wrong though?

*havent been to the gym in years

EDIT: actually having a quick look you could be right, ill go speak to running shop

check out the brake hanger at the back and the colour name is genius, whats not to like?

I'm sure a road bike hitting pot-holes and gratings etc. on tarmac at 25+ mph on skinny tyres puts much more stress on components.

having seen the aftermath of a bike + rider hitting a parked car i cant say i feel any more reassured 🙁

oh ****!,I think I'd rather actually be deid than have this kick off again

well you're going the right way about the death thing

ps you brought your lack of helmet into this 😉

    fontmoss

to be fair if you ride without a helmet then maybe the carbon steerer is the least of your worries?

    fontmoss

frame and fork doesnt worry me its specifically a carbon steerer

    fontmoss

wasn't that a filed down race/proto steerer that went?

but that sort of face/ground interaction is something i'd like to avoid 🙂

by coincidence we're covering back pain this week in clinical skills

see a med bod, trauma is a red flag and whilst it'll prob be fine there's no harm in getting it checked, pain in the arse/waste of time as it may feel now
