Had a tricross then got my hands on a cross check. Recently changed the fork and dropped over half a kilo in the process, love this bike to bits. Used to run 42:16/19 but changed to 39:19 for my first race a few weeks ago and seemed about right for slow speed corners and still climbed past folk (although spinning out on flat straights)

If you want to see a gorgeous ss cx then ask Deano T (or find his flickr)

I have a flickr group folk are welcome, in fact encouraged to add to sscx[/url]

im comparing to any race in the UK, local cx race costs that much and middle distance tri cost me £90

Tempted to register on the off chance I get a space

Is that price right? 20 euros? that’s amazing!

(FWIW i like most of their stuff, i just can’t justify the cost)

Same here but charging (not insubstantial amounts) for postage grinds my gears*

*this works on many levels 😉

EDIT: I really like the candy cx top but £120 for a jersey?! A tech jacket etc will always be expensive from any brand (relative to the rest of their kit) but a lycra t shirt? Rant over.

DOUBLE EDIT: Can only use one code ie either ship free or 20% off :'(

oscillate, my renewal is due on 15th

My monthly cost has climbed from 25 to £31 in a couple years but with 3 decent bikes (and assuming it were to be sorted out ok) then I still feel I’m better off paying a lot for M and S.

My M and S is due to renew in a couple days, don’t see anything here about the change in cover?

EDIT: Called them and they said if took a new policy out then the 1k limit would apply but as I’m renewing as an existing cutomer then I still have the 4k limit. Happy days. Aside from the £31 a month premiums….

Cheers guys lots to look at and think about

on and on, I agree with you but this is more likely to be a present from family. If I still hanker after an IWC when I turn 40 then it may be on the cards but given I don’t start working for another couple years it will have to wait until then.

Or just have discs and learn not to squeeze the lever so hard?

If we’re applying that logic then why not use cantis and squeeze harder 😉

    fontmoss

I think discs for general riding would be awesome but in my one and only cross race then cantis were more than powerful enough to lock up wheels (and they aren’t that amazing cantis)

Basically I need a cross bike with discs and bottle bosses for playing and a canti version for races. Ah well I can dream

    34:19 because chain length works

Not a 29er but still lots of fun 42:19 or 39:19

Yeah I figured it was expendable once it had done its job and it was pretty solid even when it had crept up just leaves a shadow of doubt at the back of the mind. Going out for a proper ride on it soon, if I don’t reply to this thread again you’ll know why

cheers but I know those things guys 😉

Tighten up the bung, seems pretty solid and dont want to yark it

Tighten up top cap to remove slack and preload bearings, again don’t want to yark it but seems like never gets tight

    Tighten up stem bolts

Steerer, stem etc seem fine it’s just when I checked the bung it was 2mm higher than before (when it was flush with the steerer)

Just wondering whether to order a new bung but I’m sure read a similar thread on here before

    fontmoss

the lbs are happy to fit them but said that prob cheaper to buy unofficial bearings and just bring them in

EDIT: DT swiss tech manual didn’t have bearing code just the dimensions but good old stw had them
