Pretty sweet and while I sell them, I also have that on very good authority. Freehub goes, which is not so cool but does not seem to happen any longer.

I know, I'm all about the Yeti colour of choice but it's not available on the ASR-5! (apart from a wee flash on the whites and blacks). Thanks for the advice. Perhaps black will do the trick after all and the white can be sold. Of all the things we have to do, this is the least but this is more fun.

We're a Transition dealer and Surf Sales have been great so far (well, the guy we deal with, who knows the bike market is excellent anyhow). We have done really well with our Coverts so far and am shocked at the quality and rideability of them.

Kinesis do a nice one. We've taken the plunge and got some on the way.

We run Formulas on a lot of our demo stuff and I have The Ones. They're amazing. For me, there is no better brake. However, on a demo fleet you have to do a lot of bleeding (almost every time the pads are changed) so they might not be the ultimate choice.

I still have them though and I love them!

A new Sanderson Breath – just over £200 and VERY nice. Got a visit from the main man from Sanderson today and was impressed – will always buy from him, the finishing on his frames are superb and they ride amazingly well (oh, and the new colours are sweet too!)

Careful, I was told this, tried Coke and my stomach went crazy. It seems that the active ingredient was removed a long time ago. So now you're adding acid, sugar and all things nice. Good luck.

Aye, the lad above and others have pressured me to get it! However, they were right as it's great and most importantly, the distributors are great to deal with – none of the usual hassle!

I hope the shop is telling you the truth. I'm new to the bike trade but it REALLY needs a shake-up – distributors get rich and wee shops get to take all the risk. If they don't and they want a bike "mid-season" (i.e. now and for the last two months apparently) that they haven't ordered months earlier when they didn't know the brand or the new models in some cases then they get to look like the idiots as they are customer-facing.

We need to find a way to improve matters methinks. In the meantime, I shall do what I can for customers but I cannot afford to just give stuff away/discount products forever because items don't arrive when they are supposed to.

Mondraker Factor R or Foxy (if you can get them – all sold out – we've got one and that's it!).

    £1700 and £1800.

That's pretty poor. They should have a demo bike. We're a Transition dealer now and I-Cycles in Innerleithen now their stuff and have one in action I believe.

    Fantastic stuff.

Cane Creek do them, as do Chris King. Had to work a little too hard and long to get any though! Can't get them from the distributors yet as the demand in the US has been so great.

Whyte or a Sanderson. That's what I'm talking about (although I do still like my On One Ti456!). How far back can we go? Sitting bolt upright, 50ft away from your front wheel isn't going to help your steering and control that much is it?

More natural stuff? Try Stirling on the way up north? There's some awesome stuff halfway to Fort William.

Laggan is a great trail centre if you're into that kind of thing. Don't forget Aviemore – pop into Bothy Bikes, get some maps and some recommendations and do the Lairig Ghru regardless.

Oh yeah, and some Cubes too. An Xt chainset got wrecked on our Fritzz the other day. Ouch.

We do but it's because I'm STUPID. It does not make business sense but it's fun to ride loads of different bikes. We have Whytes, Pronghorns, Argon 18s, Yetis and a Transition Covert soon.

Seriously though, margins are not good enough to do this. That's why bike retailers are often miserable!!! (I'm poor but not miserable…yet!)

£40 for Thomson seatpost is cheaper than trade. Ouch.

Truvativ Stylo Team? Works well for us, light, easy to use.

Whyte 905! I've got an On One 456 Ti. I didn't know Whytes back then. If I had I would have one

StirlingCrispin's bought one from us. He sent me an email telling me how great it is so that's pretty positive. He came from an On One. Finishing is superb on these frames and most importantly, the company is superb to deal with. Love them.

Whyte 19 Steel? Try before you buy, nice feel. Not too much travel you can't use it every day but slack and twangy enough to have serious fun. My colleague loves them too but the lure of the 150mm Pronghorn was too great (amazing climber too).

Ochils near Stirling? We can show you some awesome, natural trails and it's on the way to Aviemore, which always makes sense!

penniless and in masses of debt. I have a bike shop though, the best wife ever, and we have our health, so far… It's sunny and I'm out on my bike on our day off AGAIN! Pretty happy actually.

do the 7stanes that you want and just go as north as Stirling if you've only got 4 days. Definitely do Kirroughtree. We'll show you round Stirling trails. They're amazing.

Do folk really think they're ugly? There's one in my shop and it gets a lot of attention – everyone loves it.

what are we doing wrong? We hate them! Wooden feeling, touch when not in idyllic conditions, fallen apart on us, only brake we've had probs bleeding. The pistons don't die after a week like juicy 3s though!

Not twitchy at all! I leave mine at 100 most of the time. I find it's a mess at 130+ but everyone's different – ride it.

Kinesis do some fantastic CX bikes, which are always reviewed highly. I'm building up an Argon 18 for extra-bling factor.
