Just be careful with both of those sites – just because they’re on line doesn’t mean the trails are any good. Granted most are, but there’s some crap in there as well!
I can just about justify it. But only because I can get trade rates. I’m not sure what I’ll do if I had to pay full price for stuff – forks are unbelievably expensive. Especially when they never seem to last that long these days.
cheapest ones that do 9spd. They don’t look pretty, but they work. Not had one snap on mine or our hire bikes yet. The quicklink has been known to come off once or twice but that doesn’t change whatever you spend… might be different on a KMC chain.
Don’t get the blue one though – it doesn’t stay blue for long!
OK – I’ll keep trying then. I don’t think there’s an allen bolt in there – a 6 is too small and an 8 is too big.
GW – presumably I’m compressing the fork with the spring in there to try and stop it spinning yeah? Some ingenious use of zip ties / toe clip straps might come in handy!
Cheers for the recommendations guys. I’ll third them 🙂
If you do have any questions JimSu, let met know!
The Morzine vs Les Arcs thing – they’re different places. you should ride them both – Morzine this year, Les Arcs the next! It’s kind of like comparing Wales to Scotland – both great places to ride!
The only reason the tubeless failed really was because the bike rack on our support truck called for the tyre to be deflated a bit to squeeze in. And our enthusiastic driver just let all the air out of my tyres and the tyre/rim seal went…. hmmm.
SST – I guess the number plate privacy thing is if you spot someone’s car someplace that it shouldn’t have been – like the poor bloke who’s seen exiting a sex shop in soho 🙂
yep there is a “bike park” in Les Gets – that’s what it’s called anyway. It’s just not the old Kona one with the hut drop etc. They’ve built a few new trails basically and called it a bike park.
best place to say is in Morzine. (i would say that, seeing as I live there)
and with us (I would say that as well – can’t blame a man for trying)
Yep – Sara’s done it twice. We’ll be back for more this year.
Anyone can do it – just take your time. Hardest bits on the main race are up after the snow – there’s some rocky drops and some off-camber scree…
