Flow how old is your little boy…. my grandson is 2 year old in march…..and his dad has been looking at balance bikes but my grandson just cant get his feet to touch the floor when he sits on one of these bikes ….

    He turned two this month.

The saddle is at its lowest in the photo, so I cut an inch off the seatpost so it goes right down. His feet are pretty much flat on the floor.

I doubt I would be able to ride that course once boys, let alone three times. Way too tough for me.

If joining the worktops you need a router, a jig and lots of practice.

Joining strips look nasty and are unhygienic.

I have the 110 version of this Its lasted well.

    “The chin” looks technical….Not.

Bloody big jumps too, how do you boys do it?!

Yeah suppose you are right NW, my brothers Heckler doesn’t ride like it has 150mm travel, but then it is pretty light.

I’ve ridden both, preferred the Five.

You do get an extra two years warranty with the Lappiere though, and you are more likely to need it

I got my little boy one of these

Its pretty good. Nice and light, somewhere for him to put his feet, and its well built.

Definitely road bike, it will make you MTB’ing a lot more fun than upgrading stuff on your MTB could.

I would go for the Five over the Alpine. The Alpine is way to much bike for most of the riding you are likely to do in this country.

Riding something with that much travel makes normally enjoyable trails boring because they just plough through everything.

Focus aren’t cheap to repair. The frequency of bills can outweigh the odd major bill elsewhere.

    Thats BS.

My brother has had a T reg Focus for about 8 years and it has only ever needed a clutch and down pipe.

if I could go back I would get one of these!

V70R would have cost you more in repairs than the Alfa!

    Alpine 160

Why? Because its simple, effective, well made etc

As I remember the BBC report other peoples findings, rather than invent random stuff to put on their website?

So they never say things like “drinking milk is bad for you” then next year its “drink milk for good health”

Or “cover up in the sun” then “recent studies show that blah blah of the population is vitamin D deficient”

Oh really how strange! Maybe thats because you tell everyone that they will get skin cancer if they don’t cover up!

Flow you have selectively quoted and then edited those two together. FAIL

The Nurses’ Health Study (85,000 women followed for 16 years), an observational study (studies that associate diet and supplement intake with disease outcome based on food-frequency questionnaires and other criteria), found that a daily intake of more than 350 mg of vitamin C was associated with over a 25% reduction in the risk for heart disease. Additionally, a meta-analysis of pooled studies (290,000 adults followed for about ten years) reported that the daily intake of at least 700 mg of vitamin C was associated with a 25% decreased risk for heart disease.

Oh look more facts, I could keep bombarding you but I’m bored already.

LOL Toys you joker, I read the the first two links and clearly you need to do the same. It proves nothing at all, let alone them not being necessary.

Edit: if you carry on reading the rest of the link I gave you, which supposedly says they are bollocks you will see that

One notable exception was the First National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES I) Epidemiologic Follow-up Study (12). This study found that the risk of death from cardiovascular diseases was 42% lower in men and 25% lower in women who consumed more than 50 mg/day of dietary vitamin C and regularly took vitamin C supplements, corresponding to a total vitamin C intake of about 300 mg/day

If you carry on reading you will see there is even more evidence.

Clearly you need to learn to read fist though, instead of filtering out the facts you like.

I couldn’t care less what you think TBH, I have been researching this for well over a year, clearly you haven’t even looked into the facts.

Come on then, let me see some proper facts to back it up boys

Edit: Ahh, if the BBC say so LOL

How about reading this[/url], from a university, not the BBC

    I should think so.

    Flow – nonsense.

    That vitamin supplementation is nonsense?

Or the fact that Humans don’t synthesise vitamin C and the RDA is only enough to prevent scurvy?

I can show you a hell of a lot of scientific facts to prove you are wrong my friend. Whereas I’m pretty much 100% sure you can’t show me any facts to back up your “nonsense” claim.

I did and they have been fine. They were significantly cheaper and they threw in a free tubeless kit worth £30, which clinched the deal.

What makes the Hopes that much better than these hubs? They are made by Novatec/Joytec, who make good quality hubs.

They aren’t that much difference in price at all. Novatec hubs are cheap as chips, my brother has some on his road bike. Hope hubs are way better quality, and customer service is excellent if anything does go wrong.

Different post actually come up different sizes (even though they are supposed to be the same) My brother has a Nukeproof post and its mega loose in the frame, whereas the previous post was fine.

Try a good quality multivitamin and make sure he is getting enough vitamin C.

Have a read of this, pretty interesting stuff.

My brother just did a weekend with Ed Oxley and Nigel Page like Blur said. He said it was really good.

Why would you suggest I opt for a 17″ frame?

Because it has the same effective top tube length as the 18″ but an extra inch standover. As your inside leg is 1 inch shorter than mine, a 17″ would be more suitable.

I sold my 2011 18″ to buy a 2012 17″, it fits much better, but if they hadn’t brought out the 17″ I wouldn’t have been fussed. Like I said a 16″ is way to small.

    Hmmm, interesting, thanks.

    Anyone else done this?

    Yep, will be perfect.

    I’m 5’11” with a 33″ inside leg and an 18″ fit fine.

If you are buying new I would go for the 17″ though.

16″ will be way to small.

    Sorry mate you’re wrong.

Go find your old MTB mags and have a close look at the photos. I guarantee 99% of them have used one or two OCF’s.

If you still don’t believe me I will talk you through the reasons why.

    flow
    Free Member

    Please don’t tell me you’re being serious…

You won’t find any decent photographer not using OCF, even on the brightest of days.

Clearly you have much to learn young grasshopper. When you do, then you may question me.

I also dont understand why everyone seems to love pan shots

Because they show motion and speed :?
