Shit heads couldn’t even remain silent for a few seconds for a dead legend.
    Sad.

    Exactly what I was thinking

    No mate not yet.

Did you see the fight when he was ridiculing his opponent? That was shocking, he is a proper cock.

I hope this dude knocks him out, he looks in good shape.

    No I lost £800 off a £2850 bike.

Fives don’t nose dive after a few years at all.

VPP2 doesn’t make it better, or worth more.

You will probably get a first generation Heckler frame for £350, no chance will you get a new Patriot frame for that much, maybe an ancient one.

What xcracer1 says is 100% true.

The last visit to the doctor, he told me it was due to stress, I decided to believe him, now I’m feeling the benefits. It might be a coincidence, then again it might not.

I have done everything I can do physically. I have totally changed my diet, take all the necessary vitamin supplements for general health, I take melatonin (got it online for the states) which is helping me sleep, and I have given up looking for reasons why I feel the way I do.

From now on, whatever happens, happens. I have given up worrying about it, there are no benefits from it, and it will only make you feel worse.

DO NOT LET IT GET YOU DOWN! That is the worst thing you can do. When you are feeling like that, go somewhere and relax, listen to relaxation tapes, whatever makes you feel calmer.

There is a ton of info just on this thread that WILL make you feel better. There is so much you can learn to lessen the effects on the web too.

I always go by the 50% of RRP on mountain bikes that have been used

I just sold a 2011 Five which was used for 6 months for £800 (£2050) off the retail price. By your reckoning it would only be worth £1425.

I bet you a tenner you can’t find one for sale anywhere for that price 😉

    A) how many miles you’ve done on scooters (I’ve done a good 20000-30000 at the very least, and probably 150000 on motorbikes)

    Not many, they are shite.

    B) why a 125 bike is any safer based on your knowledge

Because generally they accelerates quicker, stops quicker, have bigger wheels so are a lot more stable, they can go faster so you are not always being overtaken – which is dangerous.

I get sick of anti scooter bias by people that don’t know a thing about them.

So from the short statement I wrote, you made that judgement.

    Well done you.

Yeah easily £600 with that shock.

I’d never value a new single pivot frame at 1099

Do a CBT for £90 and get a 125cc bike, much safer than a small wheeled moped.

The first port of call for any customer wanting a decent bike with top notch customer service is to purchase an Orange.

Shortened that one for you mate.

Their whey isolate (the best form of whey you can get) is almost half the price of the branded stuff.

It is made in house with no added shite too.

    Wide bars
I’ll say it again. Wide bars.

They WILL make you faster. The only real penalty is a minuscule amount of weight (30g ish) and you’ll hit a few more trees if you ride through narrow gaps a lot. But for an ‘all mountain’ build you’d be daft not to…

Stem – who cares? I’d buy something cheap and change until you work out how much length/height you want, then buy a Thompson in the right size.

EDIT: By wide bars I mean at least 740mm

    This is Bollox ^^

    He is right ^^

Bar width depends on shoulder width.

A 710mm bar will feel wider to someone with narrow shoulders, that it would to someone with broad shoulders.

So you can’t just say get 740mm bars.

Thanks for all your input guys… And for the record I’m not a wringer GW. Away and post your unhelpful, rude and disruptive posts elsewhere. It is people like you who drive myself and others away from this otherwise excellent forum and sport.

I think I will definitely hang onto the bike now, reading some of your posts made me realise it is a relatively common thing to fall in and out of love with biking. I appreciate how luck I am astral being in a position to ride.. Unlike some who for whatever reason can not. Thanks to Ton in particular, your post seemed to swing the balance and got me thinking how lucky we are to be able to ride.

Anyway disaster averted, I’m not selling, I’ll just take a sabbatical and maybe purchase some slicks and just potter about for a bit.

    Thanks again folks,

Have a great weekend and happy pedalling.

    Good decision 😉

By far the most comfy saddle I have had in the 15 years I’ve been riding. They also come in loads of colours, and Ti rail too if you are feeling bling.

I prefer single pivots. I’ve no idea why.

    Because they rule 😉
