i usually brim mine and still find room to put stuff in it. pump and tube goes behind the mesh, patches, levers, chain splitter and multitool go in the bottom pocket, and keys in the top one.

    a good little pack.

continental inner tube to replace the one that had a slow puncture. I had forgot what its like to come to the bike with air still in the tyre. continental inner tubes ooze quality as well.

if you can get superstar dh rims id say get them. wider than mavic, and the southern downhill (ride.io) dh team raced them all last year. cheap too.

you got 500 euros, came off ok, is it really worth taking it further? Id just move on.

is the frame not bent as well?

I was speaking generally, as opposed to people on mountain bikes.

What if they just feel like it?

like i said, at the end of the day i dont care if people push up or not.

I cant explain it, but Its nice seeing people do something they didnt think they were able to do.

OP isnt saying that anyone who walks up a hill or cant ride something is lame, just that you shouldnt give up at the first sign of it getting a bit hard.

its that kind of self defeatist nature that some people have, “oh this is getting a bit hard and I cant be bothered to try any harder”. its the can’t be bothered attitude that annoyes me a little.

If you have reached your limit, then fair enough.

I dont mind people pushing up hills, just fighting for OPs corner a bit (i think!)

    edit: beaten to it

my duffbag broke the lower plastic bit that holds the strap to the bag. bodged it with some zipties and its been sweet since then :-)

I kind of wish it had parallel backpack type straps for when im carrying the shopping though…

is the weight really that important? once youve thrown your stans rims and other stuff on there i cant think it’ll be much over 30lbs…?

bah, size 30, but the long would look a bit silly on me :(

Thats the thing though, loads of these new Ti frames seem to be cracking. maybe the quality of titanium has gone downhill or manufacturers pushing the wall thickness thinner and thinner to get the weight down or something…?

    seems very strange.

the Carbon bike was not supposed to be seen

i feel kind of privileged having seen it before the photos got deleted. looks really amazing by the way

no idea about riding bikes there, but santa barbara is my favourite place ive ever been to. Its really amazing.

anyway the main road (state street) has about four bike shops on it, so at least one of them will be able to give you some pointers. cyclists seem to outnumber cars on the main street, so i presume the rides should be pretty easy to find. tag along with some locals maybe?

but yeah, i was shocked at how many people were on bikes, not just cyclists either. people were actually using them to go the shops and stuff instead of driving. beautiful, enjoy.

trials compound brake pads. if your brakes still dont work with them, then they never will.

mmm, i know the sektors are normal, i was expecting the same with the lyriks.

    float

oh really! well thats good news that its not broken, but the maxle on the sektor is different and works by clamping the legs together. something they bought out in 2011 maybe? sektors are 2011, lyriks are 2010.

i came second in a game magazine competition when i was about 10. got a copy of, i think, the second rayman before it had been released in shops which was very cool. but it was for nintendo and we only had a playstation :(

sold it to the local game shop for £60, which, for a ten year old ten years a go, was a serious load of cash. I probably bought more games with the money.

i think the blue pig is the kind of bike you know you want (due to the head angle)

If you think you (and your trails) can do the slack head angle justice, get the BP. if your trails are a bit flatter, get the piglet. youll appreciate the steeper head angle.

i wonder why shimano didnt do c&c in 20mm as well. surely the same principals apply?

if it was a car following him why didnt he just pull over to let it past? seemed like a quiet road and he wasnt getting anywhere quickly. all it needs is a bit of give and take innit.
