Its also pretty easy to thread through the down tube an out the other end.

The light I can shed is that they’re rubbish. Try a different brand.

it looks like he doesnt know anything about bikes but thinks that by buying the most expensive bike he will be getting the best (which he might be be, but those dh bikes dont really seem to fit with what he wants/can do)

the 9 speed chain will be fine. if you running a 9 speed front mech thatll cause issues.

i dont wear waterproof socks. in the depths of winter i change to wool socks just in case the water gets through, but it rarely does (from the top at least, need to be carefull about stepping in puddles)

i bloody love overshoes.

:idea: if you dont do much walking theyll last for ages, if you take your bike for a walk, they probably wont last very long :-)

im using the bbb heavy duty ones. coming in to their second winter and, yeah, i think theyre great.

i was hoping for more from a thread that promised to be asking for the moon on a stick. you basically just describe any aluminum long travel hardtail, with no mention of if you want iscg tabs, 30.9 seatpost, if you want to be able to fit wide tyres, tapered headtube etc. and thats before you start looking at angles.
