There has to be someone with a negative spin on this

hardly a negative spin. bloody love the thing, just pointing out something that i would have done differently.

    Wassup with ’em?

if (heaven forbid) you ever have a crash and the bars spin round, the cables will get pulled against the frame and could get pulled out. i thought everyone kept them long enough for that, could be wrong though

although, whoever cut the length of the hoses and cables needs a slap.

unlike a manual youre not trying to loft the front wheel as high as you can. its just a little pop to keep the front wheel level or higher with the rear wheel until you leave the ground.

if its a pro2 you could try taking the wheel out then i think the freehub (plus cassette in this case) just pulls off, i think. Would enable another view to see if you can spot anything else.

I truly fear what I might do if someone purposefully harmed one of my cats.

youve not shot a bb gun have you…? they sting a bit but they wont even break the skin unless its point blank and a cat has a massive layer of fur aswell.

bb gun, shoot the blighter while chasing it off.

kenda nevergrips? yep, the ones that came on my gt were insanely bad. i really dont understand where the hype for them comes from.

    float
    Free Member

Well, if you believe their website every tyre is grippy in the dry, wet and intermediate conditions, and doesn’t forget the racer They all “keep rolling resistance to the minimum” too…

for my minion id pretty much agree with that. i leave it on all year round and am always pleaased at how it performs. its also lasting an annoyingly long time, i want it to wear out so i can try other tyres

on a side note, has anyone else found that the best of a minion comes when its ran relatively hard (above 35psi)

yes, can be taken apart with a spanner so you dont need the little shimano tool that you need to take apart 520’s; the reason i bought 540’s this time round.

lol there i was reading through this thread sitting on my high horse, and then,

I’ve got a BEng (Hons) 2:1 in mechanical engineering. If I had my time again, I’d just get a job and experience or maybe an apprenticeship. Really not worth the time and money in my experience.

balls :( . to be fair though im enjoying university at the moment, who knows whats going to happen afterwards? I dont see the point of coming to university to study a weak subject though. i mean, its fun and all that, but i could think of way better ways to spend >£5000 a year.

-Some decent padded cycling shorts (worn under baggies normally) are a life saver. I spent years riding in just my boxers and jeans/shorts. Finally getting over the stigma of lycra being for girls I realised just how useful decent padded shorts are!

definitely this! why sit on the floor when you can sit on the sofa? wear them under baggies and no one is any the wiser.

my tip is dont underestimate what your bike is capable of. a cheap 100mm hardtail can do so much more than people think. Maybe not a fast as other things, but you dont need the most expensive, 6″ either end all singing all dancing ferrari of bikes to do your local trails.

i can remember thinking i was going to break my gt avalanche when i started riding in wales

Yeah, probably because they were not bonded on properly, or something!

or maybe they were put away wet in winter, the water froze and the gap opened, allowing more water to get in and so on. over a few months theres not enough pad gripping the material and blam, it pulls off.
