yep, just depends what kind of mud you got. are there any tyres that are good in sticky mud?

if youre running a particularly short stem and have a particularly large diameter headset top cup they could interfere, so check that. otherwise go for it.

Probably best off just buying a whole new rear hub, often cheaper than the aftermarket freehub. Then you can use the new bearings and cones aswell

yeah but then you might as well spend that money on a new wheel and keep a spare rim.

tbh OP, just buy a new bike and keep your current one for spares.

Will be used for general trail riding

hmm, neither of those bikes will be much fun unless youre thrashing them. slack headangles dont work at slow speeds.

if your general trail riding is going to be thrashing them then im going to reccomened which one i’d want which is the blue pig x :D . ive got the standard bp and everything i want different about it has been addressed with the bpx (wider BB, bigger seat tube, bigger headtube, better steel) .

i dunno if im teaching you to suck eggs, but if youre going to be doing more xc (rather than all mountain) type stuff then youre buying the wrong type of bike.

my friend was a guinea pig to a university test involving beetroot juice and performance. bottom line was that it actually did work, but he really, really begrudged drinking it by the end of the experiment.

it was bought stuff he was on as well. I cant remember the name of it though

I wouldnt, i cant be arsed with the cup and cone thing. sealed bearings last fine for me.

The Leonardi Factory General Lee is made of a softer material and we will be interested to see how it wears

dear manufacturers. IDGAS about weight. please make this out of steel so i dont have to worry about it wearing out. thanks.

one of these days im gonna start my own component company that just makes everything out of steel…

    pressure = force / area

thats my thinking anyway. my friend argues that rim width doesnt play a part in being able to run your tyres at lower pressures, but that its to do with the tyre wall thickness.

I know some shifters can be adjusted to be 2x from being 3x

Is there some kind of giveaway sign on the shifters so I can be sure?

you dont need to know. keep the shifter 3 speed but dial in the limit screw on the front mech so you cant shift off the middle ring.

buy one of these and one of these. then replace your biggest chainring with the bash ring and put on the stinger (youll need to take your cranks and bottom bracket cup off). actually, you might not need the stinger if where you ride isnt too gnar. and thinking about it if you dont need the stinger then you wont need the bashring, just buy shorter chainring bolts and take off the big ring.

i presume you have a 32 as the middle ring at the moment, some people change to a 36 or 38 whereas ive kept mine 32. so that part is up to you.

if the medium spring is only just too soft cant you dial in some more low speed compression to help it stay up?
