this, sounds like its just fitness. a powerball might help you build grip stamina.

depends how fit you are, but id plump for the road bike. very cool looking mountain bike though, looks great fun for ripping around the road

being clipped in means i dont have to think about having my feet bounced off the pedals. having one less thing to think about is a good thing.

if you dont mind faffing around with your hubs for 30 mins every couple of weeks to keep them running smooth(ish), get shimano.

if you just want your hubs to work, get pro 2s

I found the cones were forever loosening, no matter how much I tightened them

youre not supposed to crank down the cones as hard as you can, the locknut is there to stop the cones loosening (supposedly)

ive had to put a few spacers below my stem because the faceplate was fouling the top headset. its doing that because its a really short stem, 50mm i think.

crc are selling chilli verticals for £22 quid at the moment. i always found my non chilli version pretty good in the mud.

A40 – its a road – for vehicles, pavement – for pedestrians. those of you scared to ride on the road do some training FFS and gain some confidence.
