    i've always said "Die-n-aasy".

nobody corrected me whilst i worked in the motorcycle trade so i'm sticking with that.

i was at fairford today and my son said it had gone to an airshow in wales but when i got back i'd checked web and couldn't find any airshow over that way, but seeing the direction it headed i makes sense now.

I too was more excited than my son

    sorry missed that bit ant.

mind you it does say COULD be jailed for eighteen weeks which normally reads 30 hours community service which he'll probably miss anyway and a £50 fine which he won't pay as he needs all his money for smack.

do you really think it's going to stop him nicking bikes?
all he's had is a slap on the wrist.
unfortunately he didn't have his hands chopped off or why can't the goverment take a cold, windswept island in the outer hebridies and put all the low life on there and let them get on with it, unlike oz which is nice and warm.

just been thinking about paul and the bikefest.
what happens when the timberland trail around AC get made into a blue route?
people will still ride the next year but if it's too smooth they won't be back the year after, so hows this going to affect bikefest?

    trev,
whilst working for somebody else i've had vw transporters, ford transits, renault kangoos, citreon berlingos, renault masters, merc sprinters and vitos and of course trafics.

of them all i liked the veedubs and the trafics but when i went self employed i had to choose, the vw was just far more expensive for what you got(same plate, similar mileage) so a trafic was duly bought.

i've had a few very minor issues with it(radio mainly) but it was all resolved fairly quickly, renault dealers aren't the best so i use my local independent garage now who are a damn sight cheaper.

i'd defo reccomend you test drive a trafic at least.

i get about 35/40mpg from my trafic

stevo, tell me if this is a stupid question but if you use two shelters why couldn’t you sit them side by side(shelters) to chat to the other shelter to overhear how they’re doing that way you’d keep the person in danger with you and the stronger members of the group in the other shelter which can almost look after themselves and is only a foot or so away???

Van cost about 4.5k, 53 plate with 80K miles.

    blimey they’re expensive.
just had to re insure my trafic so had to check out price which came in at 3k, 04 plate and 53k miles. i made sure that everything was right on it when it’s warranty finished and nothings gone wrong since.

i’ll defo get a renault before a vw anyday

tk maxx do a trekmates version for 16 quid (should be £30)but its only three man, weighs 450g.
trekmates also do a 4/5 man but its not in tk maxx on the cheap but still costs a reasonable £35

    http://www.trekmates.co.uk/Search/shelter/

defo worth a look if you have to get more than one, means you can spead them out around the group rather than carry upto a kilo and a half extra yourself.

    Frank,
I spoke to you on the phone a month or two back regarding your spokes pamphlet, (i’m the locksmith) i can give you a joined up list of bike thefts from my customers(with their permission, of course) as i know most of your colleagues put this down as a simple burglary so it wouldn’t always come up as a stolen bike on your reports.
i’ve also spoken to larry from southmead nick just a couple of weeks ago(who is also skulking on this forum), i’m assuming your working together but from different stations.

Anyhow give me a call if i can be of use to you, my email and number is in my profile.

see a podiatrist, as you say a physio will slap some gel on and give it a bit of ultrasound.

mine gave me footbeds to go in my shoes, exercises and a bit of ultrasound, pain went after about a week or two.

still use footbeds now two years later but never had a problem since.

no, shouldn’t do but you may have to get down there fairly sharpish of a morning as i expect july would be real busy compared to september when i went.

a lift pass, bike hire and protective equipment can be dearer than having all that and an instructor for a morning so check out rates from the lift pass office. i used the instructor to guide me round rather than instruct me.

    mint time was had.

    stato,

for underneath insulation i used an evazote equivilant foam pad which rolls up quite small and weighs just a few grams, came in a 8’x4′ sheet 5mm thick which i cut down to suit the shape of the hennessy, cost about 6 quid a sheet from a local supplier.
my friends use homemade underblankets one of which is a standard issue army summer sleeping bag(butchered) the other was sylnylon outer with two layers of thinsulate both were a bit bulky, all of which are quite warm.
down underblankets are our next trial although hennessey sell the under blanket for $130.

its at kemble next week so i’ll pop along for the flypast and it’ll be at the air tattoo which im taking my son to.
i’ve been in the display one at carlisle a few times in the last 27/28 years but have never seen one fly.
i’m literally wetting myself with excitement.

Air Canada couldn’t care less if I pack clothes around my snowboard or bike but I try not to take the piss really, helmet, boots, pants, jacket etc for boarding but I expect if I put jeans and t’s in they might have something to say.

B A might be different though.

Give them a call and ask.

Shock, forks and tyres all left inflated last time I went, if they ask for your forks and shock to be deflated tell them they’re coil inside with no air
