thats exactly how i've installed mine but fortunatly i've never had a visit.
got an oxford docking station at head height then a gold rated chain to lock up two bikes hanging from the rear wheels, enough chain slack is taken up by the bikes that the chain is nowhere near the wall to stop horizontal pressure with bolt cutters, just like vertical pressure used on a chain bolted to the ground

depends what the fire door is used for as to the use of intumescent strip.
you only need strip on either the door OR the frame not both.
it also depends on the induvidual fire officer as to what precautions you need to add to the door. yesterday i spoke to the fire office in builth wells and he told me much the same as the bristol officer but bath tells me differently, so it is entirely up to how the fire officer reads the guidelines given to him/her.
as hitman is putting these doors into his own dwelling rather than renting the property out he can fit what he wants. i agree with john-drummer about sound proofing qualities of a fire check door but fitting intumescent strip etc is wholly unessacary.

where are you hitman? i may be able to show you how to with the first door then i can bugger off for a ride!

endura mt500 over shoes are the dogs danglies. i've ridden the beast at c-y-b with these on during a very wet march earlier this year and when i took them off at the end there was just the smallest hint of damp on the inside of the overshoe(shoes were bone dry) after threeish hours of sploshing about in puddles.
think they cost about 25 notes.
think my shoes are spesh comps too.

navaras are ace, but lots of niggly probs. nothing major just small issues. had mine about 2.5 years now, if it's near the end of warranty it's defo worth the extended warranty. paid for ours(800 quid for two years extra) then door locking system went, it should have cost 600 notes.
if you get a back cover (snugtop etc like shown in the pic above) don't expect it to be water tight though.

trafic are ace to, had mine about 4.5 years now and only small problems like bulbs gone and a small issue with the radio whilst under warranty, had a service last week and needed a new track rod end, but thats the only thing major(ish) for a 5 year old van (about £120)

your not a pro fence installer so no guarantee was given.
as other people have said offer a quote for repair, if it's behind your bushes you wont see it, they do, they'll get pissed of before you will and they'll have to pay for it.

Mansonsoul; A liner means that you will not have to wash the bag as often, thus making the bag less effective. If that is a big consideration. However Crusty protests CAUSE global warming. Just think, you protest-the police get overtime-which they spend on bigger cars/holidays

why don't you just write a letter to your local mp who will pass on your concerns to gordon, rather than travelling all the way to denmark and killing our planet.

my springer had to retire from mountain biking earlier this month on health grounds.(back spasm which could be a sign of arthritus)
up until then he'd easily run for 20 miles and still want more, when ever we have a break he barks to get going again.

if you need to get a few together to qualify for printing to make it worthwhile i'd be intrested in one of the polite vests. make sure you get it done on a sleeved version rather than a "vest".

These are advertised as a decent roller door. I'm not sure what your existing is?

fitted quite a few of these doors a few years back from this company and thought they were a bit light weight for how much they cost, the finish on them was good for about a month until they'd scratched themselves whilst rolling and un-rolling. the only good thing i really have to say about these rollers are they're nice to fit.

    they're rubbish.
claimed to carry 7kgs my mate had approx 2 kg on and it snapped in half.
i'd look at something else i.e. epic designs or carousel design works.
either of these would work a treat but not cheap.

    hey stu, hows dee?

i'm assuming its redcare or equivilant you have for monitoring the alarm. in all the years i've had working for alarm companies, locksmiths etc that has got to be the biggest waste of money even the police in bristol said the don't treat them as a priority, thats even providing the monitoring station bothers to tell 'em.
