I’ve had my Pugsley for about 9 months, Brean Sands, snow last winter (I even overtook a car) and am currently blasting round the new trails at Ashton court, Bristol. Interesting in really muddy conditions but otherwise, great…….

RC31’s on both my SS ers. They take the edge off of the bumps. I love ’em

I went up on Saturday on the Pugsley, ;still enjoying it and it rode well, despite the rain.

The Timberrland trail, (not open yet) looks pretty good. Can’t wait.

I’ve just realised I’ve stood on the beach in Scotland. Years ago I had a job where my company paid private fuel, so I drove the firm’s Rover 216 up to Scotland and all round the coast (plus Skye) in a week. That is one Mother hubbard of a beach.

I must work out a reason and more importantly time to do the same trip but with the pug on the back.

Drat can’t get in the vid from work.

I’ve been riding mine at Ashton Court, great, the look on peoples faces when they pull over and see me trundle by is priceless.

Slotted dropouts without all the power bulges, frnt changer holes (clutter) and def no mech hanger should be an option in BLACK (sorry rant over)

Yes SS drop outs available…… I am interested to find out what BB chainset peeps run for SS and how it compared to the steel frame….(he said trying to justify yet another bike)

There are signs on the board by the gate, showing what’s open and closed. I don’t mind riding in mud but longer term it does b*gger the trails so don’t. LW / 50 acre etc are slightly better in the winter…

I rode Ashton Court in the rain last Monday, remained virtually mud free. Worth visiting…….

    Hi

    try contacting us at http://www.thecheesyriders.co.uk/

We often have more SS ers than odd people on our regular Monday and away rides. We have entered teams, pairs and solo ss for Bikefest. I’m sure you’d be able to find a like minded sole for June. I myself was in the SS / fixed team that won Ockoberfest last year (OK, Old Gits class Sunday, but a wins a win)

    What hills??

All good stuff, I’m thinking Bivvy bag, minute sleeping bag, no tent but possibly tarp and tie it to bike / tree, etc, tolls, pants, possibly 1 spare set of clothes (light), tools, a few spares. I ride SS, rigid, so tubes, chain?
But frame bag, bags on handlebars, stuff in a wee bag on rack.

It’s all compromise, but a few little jants should tell. I’ve still got to work out where to ride. I have Good Friday til 3.5.11 off but need to be in Belgium on the last Saturday / Sunday for SSEC. I may look at CTC. I’ll have 4/5 days and time to recover.

Or even better contact the Cheesy Riders. Mark’s super beginners rides are aimed to ride as the slowest rider and you’ll find a small crowd of similarily new-ish riders.
