I have a pair of SID World cup and Pace rigid carbons to swap depending on where I ride, except the SID’s have been in a box for 2 years, each to there own. I don’t throw myself down cliffs, but if I did wouldn’t dream of doing it on rigid forks…….

I bought mine on Saturday, I rang them and was not informed of the new policy. My insurance starts on 12th. Although I don’t think any of my bikes are over £1000, I do admit to having one for everyday of the week, (a standard week does have 11 days, doesn’t it)

They posted my frame, but it took daily emails to get the forks…….a week later

Marin County, China Camp State Park (east side, just north of Sausalito) – park by the sea and do a complete loop – maps on t’internet – going anti-clockwise up to the radio mast then traverse right across the hill and back down to the sea. Fab trails and probably my favourite in the area.

How far north of Sausalito? I have a plan…….

I’ve used parclefarce and to be fair, so far so good. I’m lucky I can get parcels delivered to work. whih saves the hassal of traipsing down to the office when they “fail” to deliver it. Royal Mail did however leave my other half’s new garmin outside on the doorstep in the rain……

I realise the other option is to fit a pugsley fork, but then I wouldn’t be able to swap wheels and have a choice of 1/2 fat / 29er and my Pugsley would fall over……..

I’ve bought and sold quite a bit over the years. The trust level is really high. Still occasionally get gazumped, messed around, but the good guys are really good……and you learn to avoid the dorks..

I agree, it’s difficult to get to much off road stuff from the middle of bristol where I live without loading up the car.
So if I’ve only got a few hours I can vary things by riding the same trails, ss, fat or retro, each have their merits and keeps things interesting.
My favourite ride ever was Ashton Court and Leigh Woods in new snow in the dark……….really amazing.
Brant i took the prototype for a good spin at SSUK, couldn’t believe how different it was from my Pugsley

I ride a variety of bikes. There are new trails at Ashton Court. I ridden it on my On One, IF, and Overbury, on a good day I can easily keep up with a fruity ride on my Pugsley. My mate has a Sunn Bmix and says that’s the quickest he has done it on. He has also borrowed my Pugsley (with an open mind) come back laughing like a loon.
    Each to his own.
Riding anything is better than not riding………

    Cheers, I’ve emailed James (Toons).

I’m still interested in buying a light but would appreciate some help on choosing the right one.

Bring a bike down (or I could find a lend) and I can introduce you to the new trails here. You’re very welcome to try the pug, if you fancy.

If these are still doing the rounds and it’s OK with Mr troute, I’d like to try ideally the Spider eyes or failing that Cutie.
I’m in Bristol, currently my email address doesn’t appear to be in my profile, but I’ll try and fix that.
    I’m pete(AT)fixedbristol(DOT)org(DOT)uk
Just the thing for night practice laps of tbe Bikefest course on the Pugsley, my “brill” lights from last year are nowhere near as good as the new trails dictate.

I have 2, I like them, both SS, fine for most things apart from serious downhills and long sections of rocks, depends where you ride…..

Take company car in on Mondays, take bike left in strationary cupboard over weekend, cycle home, repeat til friday, leave bike in cupboard, drive home. Not far but quicker and saves sanity………

Not ridden 29 er so I can’t comment on that but I’m a short ass so a 16″ 29 er looks silly. I’ve owned 456, scandal and 853 SS frames as well as my origional non disc inbred. All were sold over the years except the inbred, it’s great. Does all, feels good to ride, really nimble, which suits me, climbs, good over winter, etc. I have a Ti IF SS and if I could only keep 8 bikes would sell the IF. The On one’s a keeper….as is the Pugsley, (but that’s another thread)………

I run 40;16 around Bristol and that’s fine. Slightly lower if you take it down bridle paths, etc

did a practice Bike fest lap last night (30 mins) and going near flat out met someone going the wrong way on Timberland trail when I “mentioned” this he yelled I wasn’t the only one to tell him that. I did suggest heeding that advice, reading the maps, reading the signs, etc.
    I hope that wasn’t one of you…………
