I run plex media server on a mac mini with a couple of 1TB USB HDD’s hanging off it

Fairly expensive solution but much more flexible than a NAS

Dhcp is probably best left on

This means your ap will get its ip address from the BT router
If the ap mentions dhcp server though then this needs disabling as you would then have 2 dhcp severs which is a bad idea

    Bus companies are quite meritocratic

I know a few who started out as mechanics and are now board members

If you want to work your way up it’s still possible in the bus industry

Might be a bit overkill and you might get away with a single AP

For streaming video 5GHz is miles better if your devices support it

My solution is to run 2 routers
    BT infinty home hub
    Then a buffalo dd-wrt router

All devices connect to the dd-wrt router and you can setup timed access via MAC address which meets your requirements

Charging issues have been fixed by the recent update
Specifically our 2 devices wouldn’t charge without a reset , they both now charge without a reset

Regarding 50mph limit on the M3

I go off the GPS , so 50 on the GPS is 55 on the car speedo

Add on a futher 10% because everyone knows the cameras have some leeway
and it means the car speedo shows 60 and the GPS is 53/54

Community wireless might be what you are after

More popular in the sticks , uses a 5Ghz point to point link on your roof to a repeater

Until recently I always used Kobo
After my Kobo Glo broke I reluctantly moved to a Kindle Paperwhite

I can honestly say it’s the best ereader I have ever had , far more reliable than Kobo

You can still use ePub books , just use Calibre to convert them first

Download superscan V3 from this link

    http://www.mcafee.com/uk/downloads/free-tools/superscan.aspx

    Unplug everything Ethernet based

Scan your network to see which IP addresses are in use , the tool should give some info on the devices

Turn off wireless and plug the ethernet devices back in and run the scanner again to see if there are any duplicates

Some AV software will delete superscan so turn it off before installing

My experience with Viewranger is similar to CountZero , I bought full UK maps on DVD to run on a Nokia N95 , since then I’ve had 2 iphones and 2 android phones and it’s been easy to transfer the maps across

I currently have viewranger installed on an old iphone , a samsung s4 and an hudl2 tablet.

Great tech support too if you ever need it
