    Scone rhymes with ‘own’

It’s jam first – cream melts on a still warm, fresh scone.

Cream should be clotted and excessive.

On a more controversial note, I like mine with blackcurrant jam 8O . Strawberry is obviously fine but never raspberry.

EDIT: Slight spoiler if you’ve not watched all of it!!! Ooops sorry!

    I love B of B, superb television.

The ‘interviews’ with the veterans are humbling.

Richard Winters (Damien Lewis’ character) passed away pretty recently. RIP. Very, very few of them left now.

As we all know the Five is a bit ‘Marmite’. My son has one and loves it – I don’t enjoy riding it.

You have one so you’ll know.

Jeffsy has top, top spec for the money.

And the Stumpy – well it’s hardly gonna let you down is it?

Your call fellah, but cycling into a 50 mph headwind (or crosswind) is definitely ‘Type 2’ fun.

    Just had a quick look

Currently at least 2 Calibre Dune fat bikes on eBay. Both could be had now for £400 or less (Buy it now)

I’ve nothing to do with either btw

£600 leaves plenty for dropper and forks, maybe even a skills course too!

    Brand X dropper
RS Sektors??? (Depends on his current front axle??)

Should leave enough for a second-hand fat bike from eBay

    His money though

eulach – yes exactly that. Fitted my two with a few gentle taps from a rubber mallet to get it in straight then a few sharp ones to fully seat it

    Bovington Tank Museum, Dorset

I grew up a stone’s throw from it and used to go a lot as a kid. Back than it was little more than a warehouse full of tanks which kids could crawl all over

Live a couple of hours away now but still get down there, with my kids, probably 3 or 4 times a year.

Despite the obvious ‘violence’ of the subject matter I find it a very calming and reflective place

    Just to add my experience

I recently bought and fitted a 2 SS headsets one for my lad’s Orange 5 and one for my Mojo

I was surprised at how easily the cups went in to both frames though once fitted neither are loose

I’d suggest that maybe SS headsets size up just a shade small. Perhaps your frame is similarly a touch big

A whole thread on spuds and nobody’s mentioned ‘roasted’.

Slightly boiled first and roughed a little then roasted with garlic and rosemary

    Mash also great
    Good chips, Dauphinois too

But the rest I can leave

My son (about 5′ 7″) had a 16″. Was quite cramped and too small for him

He’s now got an 18″ which is much better.

My personal view is that seven or eight is about the youngest (it does depend on the child obviously) to be starting and ideally 10 is a better age.
There’s nothing wrong with younger children coming to class it’s just that they aren’t really learning anything other than, perhaps, focus, attention, discipline etc.

Just three important life skills then.

IMO a fat bike is perfect for ‘bimbling’ around on.

Okay, I’ll be the first to say the ‘M’ word

We bought the cheapest Miele 15 years ago. Never missed a beat and the tray at the top is ace. Quiet too

Not long been back from what was a very poor game indeed. Both sides cowed by the magnitude of the game me thinks.

Neither side really deserved the win but Reading even less than ‘field so I think a fair result. Game needed an early goal

Both teams clearly a long way short of Prem quality but best of luck to Huddersfield for next season though I fear for them.

And another shout out for Danny Williams – best player on the pitch by a distance – shame he was in a midfield of one!

Leaving in an hour or so.

Hoping for a decent game and obviously a Reading win (or my two lads will be unbearable). Hopefully neither team lose because of some daft and/or controversial decision.

And as above, if we go up, next season could be, let’s say, ‘difficult’

I used an old fashioned wire coat hanger, unraveled, as a guide, then pull the hose through with it.

Not a fan of internal routing, it’s just such a faff and makes maintenance that much more difficult
