I know two guys running old 531 Nigel Deans. Go on forever.

That one looks suspiciously like it would have front wheel / foot overlap, though.

Are the women clean ? If they are, maybe the sponsors will stay with them and we’ll get some more on the TV. The women’s olympic race was way more exciting then the men’s.

Why would I hope it’s cleaner ? Much less money involved, and this stuff costs.

About the breakfast thing above, I now do no-breakfast. Really works for me, allows me to avoid needing carbs for exercise. For instance, I did the MK sportive yesterday (100k) before eating.

Got a ten year old one still going strong. Trigger’s broom though, new bearings and freewheel a couple of years ago. Easier to set up bearings than XT as it has 4 nuts not 3.

The MK stats quoted are skewed by the fact that cycle use here must be ten times what it is in the rest of the country. The provision of cycleways is so good that large numbers cycle every day.
Also, the letter is from 1998. I’ve lived in MK for the last 10 years and know of no deaths during that period on the cycle ways, but do know of at least 3 on the dual carriageways, one of whom was an experienced time-trialler.

It was a Cyclops Fluid 2 that spewed oil all over my hall floor 🙁 The advice about the fan is spot on.

cheapest magnetic one you can get. IME oil ones overheat and blow up messily, and wind ones are noisy.

Don’t spend a lot, you shouldn’t be spending long on it.

Band – Loop. If you’ve never heard it, look for ‘Spinning’
Album – Sick Music compilation, Hospital Records
Best Track not a single – Trance 4 by Icebreaker
Single – Unprepared by Marco V. Best love song ever. Just one second by London Electricity a close second.
Gig – Cocteau Twins somewhere in Camden in 1983. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Womad 1985

Ask me tomorrow it’ll be totally different

I use the Costco ones but they’re not 100% Merino so get cold when wet. Comfy when dry though.

Me and the big group I did the Skyline with weren’t counted last year. They probably asked on one day and extrapolated the result. Grr.

Also, it sounds like it’s about to be ‘Coed-y-Brenined’, i.e. totally ruined. Following the same programme, i.e. shut the good cafe, close off best bits, open a new trail that’s bermed asphalt. Double Grr.

Thanks, the dual monitor thing is the way I want to go but lots of horror stories on the web of compatibility issues. I don’t want to spend £750 on a fancy apple screen either.

Need to use John Lewis because of warranty, or do you think Apple will honour it ? That’s a good idea, we’ll try it. It’s over a year old though…

rear hub on my road bike. poor waterproofing on non-drive side means that bearing wears quick, the others are fine. bearings easy to source as they’re a standard size, and easy to replace. v light and despite the above I like it as it made a wheel that was easy to build and remained true (dish about same on both sides which I like).

:(. I actually bought a bike from one of their shops about a thousand years ago. Seemed like genuine folk.

why not a turbo trainer ? x-trainer really won’t do much for your arms as they don’t have much slow-twitch muscle.

is that video a composite, i.e. track changes during the flashey bits ? Watching it I’m thinking ‘I know that, but it’s nowhere near that last bit’. If it’s one track I need to join you !

Mrsflap has a modern Golf which is terrifyingly fast in comparison to my old lump, yet the insurance is about half.

Sainburys £318, this is getting better.

The AXA form is exactly the same as the Swift one and comes up with the same numbers.

£409 with Swift. Looks like the mileage (15000) is doing it.
