I do this. It’s a sensible use of time.

Some days I weight train instead.

    Everyone thinks I’m a knob. I don’t give a … I’m as fit as a butcher’s dog and built like a brick ….house so they don’t dare say anything.

I haven’t done it for a few weeks though, so it’s not me you’re talking about.

Just re-read original post. Don’t do it in lycra, I must admit.

in theory, say put away 20% of each invoice paid

Or more if you’re straying into top tax rate…

I’m doing Mrs flap_jack’s now. I can (just) remember when, in my youth, saturday nights were for having fun.

My 1994 e300D estate (W124 body) has one small patch of rust. Just coming up to 200000 miles. Getting rare these days, the engine bay wiring looms usually do for them (they bio-degrade in the car).

You get get a FS bike in the back without removing the wheels !

Avoid the early (1997-2003) W210 E class (one with round headlights) for sure. My mate’s 1998 E280 (w210 body) is held together with duck tape, rust everywhere. Better after 2003 I believe. Don’t know about C-class though.

Thanks, chaps. Mrs flapjack has gone to the pub and supposed to work this out in an hour, whilst I make dinner. It may be easy enough to achieve !

Entry through rear UPVC door, the key cylinder is now on the carpet.

How’d they do that ? My bikes are in the conservatory…

Can you make them run on your own site, e.g. if I had http://www.flapjack.co.uk, is it easy to put a blog on it ?

    Thanks

(I don’t want to, but Mrs flap_jack does and I’ve failed at working out how to do it)

So, just to be absolutely clear, if my mate and I ride from my house, my ride gets cropped for the exclusion zone but his goes from and to my house ?

If that’s correct then that’s useless.

    (Reconsidering strava…)

Not that bad at all. Ignore them, you did well. (various Contis on nearly all my bikes).

Check out the FNSS come the spring. Loads of friendly races in your area.

I last bought an MTB in 1999. It did last year’s Passportes absolutely fine. My mate’s even older bike was fine too.

Didn’t work for me. I ended up putting a second layer of plasterbaord and having it plastered.

    Good luck.

If you actually turn up the resistance and ignore the person shouting instructions at the front you can have a decent interval session. Sit at the back, no-one will notice you doing your own thing.

Forgot to add – get out once you want kids.

Pretty high IMO. Lots of people try and sit in the same place every time. Probably more prevalent on commuter trains (mrs_flap and her chums always sit in the same places) and gets to crazy levels in works car parks (I once saw a fist fight over someone parking ‘In MY space!’)

Despite your original post, if you like The Arts it HAS to be London. Nothing compares to living there for a few years.
Living there is nothing like visiting, it’s great whilst you have the vitality for it. I did 8 years and loved it.
Now loving being somewhere 1/2 an hour away so I can immerse myself when I need to.

Yep, I remember painting lights yellow. It was a bu99er to get off afterwards too.

I’m not aware of any study that shows that homeopathy works better than placebo. Do you know of any?

How do you test this ? How do you make a placebo for a placebo ?

IIRC, the original idea of GoFar was for folk to organise rides. Nice to see it used for its proper purpose.

    If you’re 50, be (a bit) careful.
Your max may still be what it was when you were young, your heart’s ability to do it may not be as youthful. We’ve had a few heart attacks at work from fit, strong, vigorous cyclists in their 50s.
Latest one did Dragon, fast, following week, honing his climbing for the etape, collapsed at top of a hill outsprinting his mates. DOA, sadly. Keen cyclist all his life, looked in great condition. 58.
I look at it in the same way as you don’t red-line an old car. It’ll do it, but what are the consequences?

My dad learned to windsurf at 68. At 75 he tried golf, as ‘I must be old enough by now’. One round later, he declared it ‘still boring’.

He did race cars and motorcycles in his youth…

We have one. Used for the obvious, but also a great way to quickly wash the bits before applying ar$e lard and shorts if you don’t want another full shower that day.

Is the project free standing like that or does it need a box ? If it’s freestanding it looks fantastic !

Sadly, the rails have a reputation for breaking according to the CTC. But Brooks aren’t the only leather saddle maker. The Spa ones might be better…
