Isn’t the top range screw a limiter ? You wouldn’t expect it to move anything ? It just stops the mech from swinging so far as to ship the chain onto the crank arm ?

    Carbon…

It looks like it allows the manufacture of the frame and the bars to be separately, then joined together at the final assembly (bike shop ?) phase.

    @TFO

The social science suggests that the common factor is extremist tendencies, upon which the most convenient religious superstructure is placed. Not the other way around.

There’s some good stuff coming out of the LSE about this.

Sandown – great beaches, faded resort. Shanklin much better. I grew up in Shanklin so maybe I’m prejudiced…

Acupuncture cured it instantly for me.

I was a complete skeptic when the physio offered it. ‘This won’t work but I’m desperate so let’s try’ said I.

I absolutely could not believe it.

    I hobbled in.

    I walked out.

    Bravo !

But you were effing close to failure there. You had to recruit your adductors which compromised your stability. Be really careful. You can really hurt yourself such that you never recover. Yes I am a qualified personal trainer.

If you are married to a middle aged middle class woman, anything in John Lewis does the job. 😀

Right need to stop wasting time here and get the fecker wrapped before she gets home…

Print a gigantic sum of money and give £10,000 to everyone on the planet.

Didn’t they do that ? QE ? Except it got stuck in the banks…

Having a John Lewis in easy cycling distance saves the day again.

Lesson of the day: a red cycling jacket and red bobble hat is not the thing to wear among xmas shoppers, unless you want to be constantly stared at by young children. Took me a while to realise why it was…

Yeah the photos thing is a bummer. The change from iphoto to photo wasn’t smooth for us either.

I took a time machine backup and to another drive all my music and photos just by copying the files.

Good luck if you try it. BTW we’re on a much newer machine…

Considering all the phone tapping News Corp did, I expect they knew exactly who was doing what, and wouldn’t be sponsoring if they thought that Brailsford was anything but clean…

About 10 years ago a guy wrote an article about this in the torygraph, and said that if he could afford it he’d take HGH forever. He hated the side effects of everything else.

Beautiful but what’s with the tiny head tube. It’s 2015 FFS.

Do test ride a Diverge, at least as a baseline to compare with everything else. I’ve never ridden anything quite so seductive…

We have family in Islington. Milton Keynes to there is 1 hour drive at quiet times. Train / tube about an hour too, door to door from us (5 mins from station). Muswell Hill harder by public transport as I expect you know but 10 mins quicker by road.

Fun place to live, excellent for families / running / cycling, big hospital, lots of jobs. You have to like modern architecture though…

    Four of us in Kent.

Car comes past, passenger shouts ‘C***’, ‘A***h***’, ‘W*****’.

Gets to me but he has run out of vocabulary so all he can do is make a ‘grrnwarrg’ noise and appears to convulse in fury.

    Still makes me chuckle…

As you can see, it’s a real marmite place. Those who like it really like it, those who don’t really don’t. For sure it’s absolutely nothing like anywhere else in the UK.

This ‘soulless’ thing is all about the fact that when you drive around you don’t see anybody. But that’s the point ! Cars have been separated from people and that’s brilliant. It’s safe to cycle and walk anywhere. We have street parties on our road and there’s no need to apply to get it closed for the day. You have to live in MK to benefit from this though, pointless living outside.

Depends what you want from a night out, plenty of top comedy at the Stables, good local bands, great folk music, all sorts of pubs. Can’t tell you about the night clubs, not my thing, but I’m told there’s a thriving singles scene for all tastes…

I’ve lived in MK for 15 years and I think it’s brilliant. You can live a totally bike focussed life here. Great MTB in the Brickhills, great road stuff out just to the west of the town, great club if you like competition and, crucially, you can cycle to work / shop/ whatever/ wherever traffic free. You can live car free.

London’s 30 mins away. I can finish a beer at the Euston tap and be back at home in 50 mins (I live very close to the station).

Do it. We moved here from London, from a tiny flat to a detached house. Never regretted it. My wife works with a woman who lives in Ealing. From central London, my wife will often get home first !

Not having downtube shifters is a fail in my book.

Funnily enough, I’m today re-hosting kit from a 2000 ally frame to a 1980s 531c Raleigh, with the exception that I’m not transferring the brifters. I’ve got some lovely dura-ace downtube shifters to put on.

Thank you. Not SOE. French, so French army (and not Free French Army, but the bit the ‘never surrendered’ as she proudly said, in North Africa). She didn’t share the closest details, but when my wife offered to lend her ‘Charlotte Grey’ she said that didn’t need to read it as she’d lived it !
