how young was your child when you started them in the trailer. My girl is 10 months old & am thinking of doing a trailquest as a generation team next month. Is this too young. Are there any recommendations re minimum age?

Love it! Except I call it Jey Pride. Couple more things to add to the list – handlebars, must be of flat profile no more than 580mm wide – riders must be less than 10% body fat.

Yes every day have done for years it’s part of my work day I’d be lost without it. Many is the time I’ve refused a lift when it’s been pissing down our minus 5:)

“We sometimes start our Tuesday Night Club rides from there, there’s usually a few mattress-luggers dangling by their finger nails…”

That’ll be Stinky Pete & his mates

“Make yourself known next time you’re passing – kettle’s always on for another cyclist!”

Is that offer open to his mates too? 🙂

Probably a bit unfair to criticise the riders really they were probably as gutted as us speccies although it seems common practice by the armchair ‘riders’/15 miles a week brigade on here to diss the pros in most disciplines

Footnote: Ben I received both your texts at 18:13. I have replied but out may be tomorrow on current form!

Rode all the way to Oakenclough only to be told it was off. Never saw any MTBers out enjoying the breeze though

Err, guys, you’re in a XC BIKE RACE, not an xc running race.

So stay on the bike & **** ride the damn thing”

Err perhaps you’d like to remember the little drop down to the stream on xmas eve Gary before you go critising other riders

To me it is yes. I once pedalled a 36lb Turner RFX to the top of Walna Scar (while its owner PUSHED my carbon stumpy up!) & it nearly put my lights out. Never again.

I think it would be more worth it though to the Sunday rider if they get rid of the football they keep up their jumpers before ordering the Sid World Cups.

Correction – make that a 971 XTR front mech

bikerbruce that is exactly the information I was after. Now tell me will a 980 double shifter work with 970 front mech & 10 speed XTR crankset?

    fizzer

so the mech still covers the same arc right & the (10 speed) shifters just moves the mech within that arc? So why won’t it work?

Judging by the amount of rain drains across that track it would appear wet it is 😀

Same day, Loch Coire Fionnaraich when the sun shined briefly

Last year in May, no snow (or Midges)

I have to say that the ride down to Annat is worth the slog up to Bealach na Lice in my opinion

I’ve had S-works (x2), 08s fell apart 06s still usable just but now have Sidi Dragons. They are the Jimmy Choos of the MTB world ultra light ultra stiff ultra pricey but top performers. I’ve never scrimped on bike shoes I think they are a very important piece of kit. Go for the Sidis buy cheap buy twice remember the quality long after the price.

I weigh in at 72 kg fully laden and run mine at 100psi with the rebound set about half way.
Never had them twist & whilst yes the old 28mm SIDs were flexy as hell the modern day 32mm stanchions are not. Just changed mine to 2011 XX version & love the hydraulic lockout.

I have my 09 ones up for sale but there is a wear mark beginning to show on one stanchion.

Forget the 3000ft mark you need to go to Great Sca Fell in the back o’ Skiddaw area for a real long uninterrupted descent. Bit of effort to get there but well worth it, 3.75 miles no gates & no grumpy walkers!
