I did it clockwise last May. Awesome route but don’t use the disused railway through Leanachan forest as I did. Don’t know why you’d need to descend all the way to Kinlochleven though.
Another one when I’ve got the kids. One of my fave routes too. When you pick the next ride date can you make it an odd number of weeks from this one please?
I’ve just got an online quote fromn M&S for 265 quid for buildings & contents inc away from home. Covers bikes up to 4 grand. Guess where I’ll be going when current cover runs out?
Long time since I did these two munros (on foot I might add). I remember looking down towards Glen Avon from the sneck and couldn’t see a path. Not sure why anyone would need a path to there from Glen Avon as its so remote.
Sir came in Nov 1986 I recall. Add up how much all other bosses of “leading” teams have spent since then and we’ll have a cheque book charter. Aberdeen, now there’s a rich club…yawn and all us united fans live down south….how many times do I have to listen to this green eyed hypocrisy?
There’s only one United and they come from Manchester….
My BB disimtegrated some 8 miles North of Keswick. Unknown to me at the time the wrecked bearing cut a groove in my XTR axle which resulted in it shearing off a couple of weeks later. So the twenty pounds saved on the shite BB actually cost me over 200. My rear brake pad parted company with the backing plate last weekend. I will never, ever buy any of their crap again.
That is the inner race of the BB bearing that broke as well. The score marks are the result of a collapsed BB bracket at the head of the Glendaterra valley and the subsequent ride back to Keswick. I think this has caused a weak point on the axle. Poor fitting had nothing to do with, torqued up to 45n/m. Changed the torx bolts that are made from cheese on the first ring change.
Yes I was up in the big gears when it went.
The Noirs feel stiffer than the XTR and 53g well that’s a not a big penalty.
As for the BB – when it wears out it will get the two week old Hope one I bought in Keswick.
