As a mtb’er and ex motorbike green laner, I can see both sides of the story. However, what many ramblers, horse riders, mtb’ers etc. aren’t aware of, is they have somewhere around 100,000+ miles of of off road right-of-way, when users of motor based vehicles have less than 10,000. And what there is, is being downgraded year on year.

The damage they are capable of causing is/can be bad if not ridden/driven with restraint. However, when I used to go green laneing, most of the damage to land I rode on was caused by farm machinery of weather erosion.

And as for horses, they can do a fair bit themselves. Then when your finished riding one, you don’t just power wash it and leave it in the shed for a few weeks. You put it in field/paddock, where it chews that up and 5h1t5 everywhere.

Problem with being offroad on a motorbike, is, you are instantly tagged as an outlaw. Whether on a legal bike on a CLASSIFIED road or a MX rider just out to rip up land with his mates. There seems to be very few people who know the difference in bike types,Trials, Trail, Enduro or MX etc. legal or not.

Sounds like you have the pre Pro 2 hubs, which I think were the Bulb hubs. They had unequal length 20mm adapters. Try swapping them around, I think they are just pushed in, with the grip of an ‘O’ ring to hold them 😉

Maybe too much fluid in your brakes (I’m serious) and when it heats up and expands, it could be pushing the pads out a bit more.

Buy XT triple, sell all the chainrings to recoup a few bob, then buy an On One 34T SS chainring which will cost you half as much and last 4x longer than the best of the alloy ones 😉

I am lucky enough to come home to a beautiful wife (of 29 years) who will quite often have a chilled beer and a great home cooked meal ready. I have many hot/noisey/crap 12 hr shifts to deal with, but what I come home to makes it all seem worth it. I hope this doesn’t make me seem smug, just appreciative of what I have 🙂

Mine was 5hite (I had to buy it last year for my Mega because at the time nobody did one in the size to fit the Mega) greased it, re greased it and it still only lasted months. Now got a Hope for not a lot more, but will last years if all my previous Hope headsets are anything to go by.

Wrap it in a bit of old tube to get grip and not to cause damage so that it looks good to sell on 😉

I had a similar issue with a Hope floating rotor on some Fox 36’s. I had the Hope mount and it fouled. Had to machine about 1mm off to clear it. Out of all the mounts I have ever had, Hope ones seem to be the thickest. Might be worth looking out for some slim ones, or ask whoever is selling one if they could measure the width for you

I am thinking of selling my Canon G12. Bought new last year from John Lewis for £380. Will sell for £125 because there is a dent in the magnesium body from when it fell out of my camera bag 2 weeks after buying it. (see pic) All functions work as new, it is purely cosmetic. It can be as complicated or easy as you want. Put it in auto, and it will still take superb images, or play with the huge array of options to obtain various results. There is also a tiny spec on the lens that is far too small to see in a photo, and doesn’t show itself on any images. It will come in original box with all the discs, cables, charger, booklet etc. it was supplied with. The only alteration I have made, is to the neck strap, which I cut and turned into a wrist strap (works great)

I’m sure the guys on here who have/had one of these will vouch for how good they are. And I am sure when you do a search on second hand G12’s, you will see how cheap this is.

Iv’e got a 2012 Mega with 150 Rev’s (takes a 31.6 seatpost) and all the other bits I took off a 2010 Five. Although the Mega frame is 1 lb heavier than the Five, its worth it, as it feels far stiffer and I think handles better too. And it still came in under 30 lb’s.

Always grease mine. Lube on a thread actually lets you tighten the bolt more. Never had a chain ring bolt come loose yet 😉

Having owned an Alpine 160 for about 2 1/2 years and tried, 2010 Fox Float RC2, 2011 Lyrik 170 RC2 DH, 2011 Bos Devilles and 2010 Marzocchi RC3 Ti’s…….I would say the Marz RC3 Ti’s were best. Devilles were good but needed seals & bushes after not a lot of use.

There maybe too much lube oil in the lower legs. Rock Shox only recommend 3-8 ml of oil in the lowers for lube. I, like many others, add a bit more to make sure there is plenty of oil splashing around to lube the bushes/seals. I tend to put about 15-20ml in and accept a 10-15mm loss in full travel, but am happy to know my forks are getting well lubed (7 years and no worn stanchions) Hope that make sense, had a few glasses on vino 😉

Sram 10 links CAN be reused 🙄 Cheap tool made from a wire crimper does the job fine. Both my 10 speed chains have been removed dozens of time for cleaning, and the links click back together each time like when new 😉

Not true, they are just as reusable as any other link. Both of mine have been removed dozens of times for cleaning. They click back together each time as if they were new

You’d be best off buying second hand hora, then next week when you sell them, you should get your money back 😉
