Lets hope the compensation band wagon hasn’t got CRC tyres on it 😀

I saw evidence of the lesser brained wrecscum chav at Llandegla today, but I didn’t actually see one in the flesh (it was morning), only the tell tale signs of Mars wrappers and empty pop bottles 😆

RP23 BV Adaptive logic, M rebound and comp. Works a treat. Plusher and better control when things get rougher and faster.

If its a front wheel drive car and you put the good (Conti’s) on the front and the crap tyres on the rear, you could make the car a bit tail happy in throttle lift off situations. No very safe on winter roads. Best go for decent tyres all round. They are the only thing that contacts the road 😉

Hi Alex, sorry for the delay getting back to you. I no longer have a Joystick, but I do have a mount. Its 19.5mm inside dia. approx, and my torch is 20.5mm dia where it would fit the mount.

The torch below was a Deal extreme jobbie that I turned down on the lathe bit by bit to save weight and fit an Exposure helmet mount. It fitted perfect and was nearly 50% lighter than the original light (can’t remember exact weight)The same could be done with any light that contains a single 18650 battery (which I believe a Joystick does).

Most of the Chinese torches have too much metal in their construction. It gives a chuncky look and makes them feel substancial, so you think your getting a lot for your money 😉

Fox Antifreeze, they come with a liner for really freezing days, or remove it for just cold days 😉

SRAM power links can be removed and reused many times. A cheap electrical crimper modified by grinding to a certain profile has done the job dozens of times 😉

Seems to be a bit of confusion between Royal Mail and Post Office here. Royal Mail has been sold off, not Post Office, its a completely different company now.

But PO prices and their recent scandalous rises are a joke. I spend time now packaging items to fit in the cheapest postage category, eg: split a headset up to fit as flat as you can, that way it goes as large letter instead of small package 😉

Hope confusingly state the headset dimensions as 43.95mm, which you would expect to be a loose fit in a 44mm headtube. Not so, they are a tight (interference) fit. If they marketed them as 44mm, it would far less confusing, and they would come up on a Google search 🙄

1×10 Xt Shadow rear mech, XTR shifter, e13 XCX chain device, On One SS 34t sprocket (alloy ones are twice the price and wear out far too quick). Front mech !!!, are you kidding, they’re for girls 😆

The answer to your question is yes, BUT don’t buy a NP headset, they are 5H1te. Crap bearings and crappier seals. For not a lot more, Hope do exactly what you want. I have had both 😉

Bondhus, Unbrako, Allen, HaFu, all top quality industrial brands I have used for decades. They take a lot more abuse in industry than a bike shop 😉

Hope bearings are top quality, usually INA Swiss made. They will outlast the cheap bearings by a long way. Buy cheap, buy twice as they say 8)

What we need is adjustable wheel/tyre diameters, then we can do away with those troublesome gears 8)

Honda did produce some trail bikes with 23″ front wheels back in the 80’s, they didn’t catch on. Probably not helped by crap tyre choice.

The other problem with big dia. wheels on motorbikes, is the gyroscopic effect. Not a problem on a lightweight cycle wheel at low speeds, but at speed on a motorcycle, a large dia. heavy wheel would have quite an effect on steering .

If adjusted correctly there is no difference between a £5 headset and a £500 headset, its just the sealing properties you are paying for.

SRAM service info says to put 6ml of oil in + chamber when servicing. Someone could easily have also put a bit in the – chamber. Helps to keep ‘O’ rings lubed. Not a big issue if its only a small amount. I would be more worried if dust came out 😀

I’m more curious about the frame. Looks like an Alpine 160 at 1st glance, but check out that front shock mount 😯
