If coatesy has no luck, I can have a go in few days after working 12hr shifts 🙁

I should have a few old taps that size, (35 years in engineering helps)and if I do, I can cut one down gradually to get a thread down to the bottom of that short hole 😉

By turning your spring collar 6 turns you are closing up the gaps between coils. When your shock fully compresses on a big hit, there may not be enough distance left between each coil to allow the shock to close without (“spring bind”) each coil smashing into each other, at best, shearing off your spring collar, at worst, bending a shock shaft or other high cost damage 😯

I use an old pair of Hi-Tech walking boots for winter riding, at least I think they were Hi-Tech, they have been covered in mud for 3 years. They keep my feet far warmer than my 5/10’s even when wet 😉

Got an RP23 Adaptive Logic on mine with med rebound, med velocity, 200 boost valve tune. HV air can, but that has been reduced in volume with a home made insert. Works great.

I did try the volume reduction on the Monarch shock, which did improve it, but the Fox shock is so much more composed when the going gets faster and rougher 😉

Cold weather alone can knock your economy. Every moving part is stiffer/tighter due to thicker lube and harder seals etc. Then they all take longer to warm up and loosen off, using more fuel to do so 😉

From your description, you have a post with a cylindrical taper/single bolt clamp. BIN IT and get something like a Thomson post with front/back adjustment bolts, once set, they stay like that. Nuke Proof do a very good cheaper version 😉

Looking at the weather forecast for Llandegla tomorrow, you would be better off with gears. 28 mph in in yur face on the climb 😯 .Oh!, and bring a chain saw to clear the fallen trees 😉

You should have been today. Cold but sunny and no wind 8)

Rubber Queens – no confidence in leaning them over, heavy draggy, crap

Which rubber Queens have you tried ?

I have been using BC RQ’s for ages, and love them. I have tried various tyres on and off in between, but have yet to find a better all round tyre than the RQ. 🙂

Just get a SRAM 10 speed chain. They come with a split link, and it is reusable, contrary to what SRAM say 😉

From what I can make of my new Reverb, the MMX mount is removable from the Reverb remote. Then just use the remote where you want to. Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick here 😳

Clutch switch was the cause of failure on my Audi. Mondeos may have a similar switch, as dipping clutch or brakes will deactivate any cruise control. 10 minute job swapping switch under dash/on to of clutch arm. No warning lights ever came on, and the switch only activated/deactivated cruise.

One of my neighbours keeps chickens, and he feeds the local fox twice a week with food scraps etc. He says if you keep the fox fed, it won’t bother the chickens. Seems to work too.

If you have fitted a 150 fork to a bike that was meant to be 125mm travel F&R then that maybe the issue with your climbing 😕
