If you adjust the high and low adjuster screws on a 9sp rear mech to their max, would they cover a 10sp cassette ?

Cut-up an old BBS overboot, about 4"x6", cut holes in each corner, fitted with zip ties, works a treat.

The main difference that would effect use on the road is the gearing. The YZ has a a close ratio gearset as opposed to the WR =(Wide Ratio)

Try Old Bike Mart, A mail order paper, mainly for the old Brit bikes, but you do get jap stuff in there too.

Bought a 2002 Focus after having a 2002 Golf, both 1.6. The Golf was the most dreary dissapointing car we have ever owned. The focus out handled it by a country mile. In 6 months with the Golf, the exhaust fell off at the Cat. and earbox started whinig. Had the focus 2 years now, had to replace front drop links £45 pair, easy job. Just replaced front discs/pads (£77)

Going by the pressure your running, I would start at full rebound and work back. I am 14st, also running a Pushed RP23 on a Hustler. I tend to run about 2-3 clicks from full rebound now. It used to be less, but now the shock is nice and stiction free after 12 months or so of use.

Currently running std. 2.35 Hutchinson Toro’s tubeless. Only about 650g’s, roll well and grip well. Sidewalls seem very tough, even though they are light. They recently had very good reviews in Dirt mag and another mag that I can’t remember. They are on the small side for 2.35’s, more like 2.25’s.

doug_basqueMTB.com………… serious skils I WISH. I’m not a big jumper. They are Pushed, whether that makes any difference on the compression stroke to resis tblowing through travel !!

I do like my bike on the plush side due an old collar bone injury.

14st std. med spring. I have tried the firm, but prefer med. They get a good thrashing on my Hustler and never bottom out.

I had a 2005 Horstlink 5spot which I though was great, then I tried a Cove Hustler(sold the 5spot within weeks) Had the Hustler now for 18+ months and it still puts a smile on my face.

Definately grease it, prevents seizing and aids fitting/removal. Have had 3 Pikes over the last 2 years with zero problems.

Specialized SX Trail comes with a 135x10mm rear end with a hollow alloy bolt through bolt and nut. I use a Hope Hoop rear with the 10mm through axle mod. With this in mind, the Specilaized 10mm bolt should fit any 135mm rear dropout with no problem, as long as you have a sutable hub.

Llandegla do various skills courses by their own staff. The Athertons also do courses there at certain times of the year.

If you go for the “cutting a slot with a hacksaw” route, try borrowing an Impact Driver (set in undo). This has worked on many similar long bolts seized into alloy motorbike casings over the years.

Just had my first purchase from them this morning. Best Buy-it-Now price for Racing Ralphs on ebay by far(23.99 for 2.25’s). Will definately use again.

Don’t use ball enders on old tight allen bolts, they will shear off where the reduction in size is to create the ball. If you have a spare slightly larger one, grind it down carefully so that it will fit tight with the aid of a few hammer taps.

I got a 2006 one while I still had a fivespot. I soon sold the fivespot as the Hustler just put a far bigger grin on my face. I’ve also tried Commencal Meta 5.5, Santa Cruz Heckler, Orange 5 and ST4, Yeti 575 on various demos, but still prefer the Hustler.

Pushed Pikes and RP23, XT Shadow rear mech and carefull cable routing = crisp changing and no ghost shifting.

You won’t be dissapointed if you buy one.

I sold a Draco hub last year, but before doing so I weighed it and a Hope XC I also had. The 20mm Draco hub was lighter than the Hope XC one.

They had them in Cheshire Oaks outlet at the weekend in Fat Face. Short sleeve £10.50, long sleeve £12 (they should have been around £35-40. I bought one a few weeks ago, virtually identical to my Howies, and performs just the same.
